The Role:
Title : Temporary Contract MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor

Role :
Our client is seeking to appoint a Temporary Contract MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor in the Bristol Office.

The ideal candidate will have undertaken both traditional professional Building Surveying instructions (including: Party Wall, Pre-acquisition Surveys, Dilapidations and Schedules of Condition) and worked as a Contract Administrator/Lead Designer.

You will be able to operate as part of multi disciplined project teams taking the project lead where appropriate. The ability to demonstrate previous project and professional work is essential, preferably with experience of administering a number of different contract types (e.g. JCT & NEC).

The individual will also be required to undertake the CDM-C role on projects and ideally should be suitably qualified (NEBOSH Certification/APS Membership).

You will have the ability to manage fees and the ability to achieve fee targets.

Our client operates a Structured Training Scheme for year out students and graduate surveyors; and apprentice training through the Chartered Surveyors Training Trust. You will be expected to support these initiatives and if Chartered you may be asked to undertake Counsellor or Supervisor roles as a function of these schemes.

The successful candidate will also be highly IT literate with MS Project or other programming software skills. CAD skills are desirable.

Personality
The ability to operate as part of the Surveyors Team and within a multi-disciplinary environment. To represent the company with confidence to a variety of clients, reporting to the UK Head of Building Surveying. The candidate will be well motivated, committed, innovative, career minded, with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
As some of our term contracts are nationwide there may be a requirement to undertake reasonable travel. Our client's Surveyors Team is dynamic and adaptable and would suit a person who thrives on working on enjoyable but challenging instructions and projects.

Salary/Package
Salary dependent upon experience, reimbursable expenses and flexible benefits package.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualification Required: MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor

Experience required
The suitable candidate, will be an MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor and will ideally come from a consultancy background. Commercial property and project management will be your area of expertise and you will be able to demonstrate an ability to provide sound professional property advice to a variety of clients in both the public and private sector.
Experience will include the delivery of projects in accordance with project specific time and budgetary constraints. In terms of completing instructions you will be used to working within agreed fee scales.
You will also have a reasonable level of Party Wall, Landlord and Tenant advice including: Pre-acquisition surveys, Dilapidations, Schedules of Condition preparation and negotiation.
