The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
Mulliner is a wholly owned subsidiary of the company that engineers, manufactures and delivers products to meet bespoke customer needs of customisation and personalisation.

This role is responsible for the sourcing strategy, operational sourcing and vendor planning; associated with delivering the Business Plan of the Mulliner Brand. Key aspects are to lead cost down initiatives, achieve total cost optimisation, quality and delivery improvements. The secondary goal is to integrate the Mulliner Purchasing process into other group processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Mulliner sourcing strategy and operations:
- Develop and execute strategy to use sourcing as a competitive advantage for niche low-volume development and delivery.
- Bespoke and low-volume supply chain development and management.
- Bespoke and low-volume sourcing and vendor planning.
- Sourcing of design and development (D&D) partners/ suppliers.
- Continuous improvement - material and tooling costs reductions.
- Accruals and purchase price variance.
- Delivery of projects:
- Delivery of forward sourcing activity.
- Timely decision making.
- Nominating within tooling and material cost targets.
- Supporting Mulliner Quality for supplier audit; and controlling of supplier performance during launch.
- Management of Engineering changes.
- Integration of Mulliner sourcing process/es with group processes:
- Develop and execute strategy for the process and operations integration.
- Lead Local Sourcing Committee to make supply decisions.
- Lead Supply Concerns Meeting to assure continuity of supply to the right quality.
- Support the training of Team members:
- Support and monitor Departmental action plans.
- Support the training of best practice

Previous Experience

- Proven Track record of working in a Purchase environment, with significant experience within the automotive industry.
- Experience and knowledge of low-volume and bespoke parts sourcing required.
- Development of sourcing strategies with constant evaluation of short, medium and long term strategies.
- Demonstrable experience in a commercial environment, including complex contractual negotiations.
- Demonstrable experience in supplier management, supply chain management and negotiation.
- Good communication and presentation skills along with the ability to guide and influence others at all level of the Business cross-functionally.
- A proven track record concerning the financial management of external supplier spends.
- Understanding of Project delivery milestones.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering against challenging technical, commercial targets.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent and preferably associated to a professional body (i.e. Chartered Institute of Purchase and supply).

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- German language skills would be desirable.
- Broad technical understanding of automotive commodities is preferable.
