The Company:
A global leading business with an established history in speciality chemicals manufacturing and fabrication of related products.

The Role:
Working within the Engineering department and reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, the purpose of this role is to support Operations by providing the necessary engineering skills to safely maintain all site equipment, corrective and preventive, to prescribed standards in order to achieve operational targets whilst deploying problem solving skills and Lean techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

- Proactively promote a positive H&S culture and ensure adherence to Company policies, safety flashes and toolbox talks.
- Provide a maintenance service to the site with a mechanical bias with additional electrical multi-skills as identified in the competence matrix.
- Liaise with the Maintenance Team Leader and Production, agree work priorities and carry out breakdown, corrective and preventive maintenance as instructed.
- Ensure work conforms to all quality, security, and EHS standards
- Carry out statutory and other tests on site and in the site boiler house.
- Support LEAN implementation in the department to deliver metal and cost improvements in accordance with Manufacturing Excellence requirements.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The position is 24/7 shift based. Due to the nature of this role applicants must be non-smokers and have been free from nicotine products for at least 3 months.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a chemical maintenance environment or similar process industry.
- Hold a recognised mechanical qualification at C&G/B Tech/ONC/HNC level.
- A good communicator you will be required to regularly liaise with other site based departments.
- Demonstrable experience of problem solving and an active contribution to continuous improvement, LEAN, quality standards and EHS are all essential requirements.
- Experience in a computerised maintenance management system is desirable.
