The Role:
.Main Responsibilities:

The NEWS Operator’s main function will be to support the QA/QC Lead NEWS & Welding Specialist and ensure that QC activities are performed in accordance with the Project QA/QC requirements. Within these areas of responsibility he will be required to:
• Data entry
• Promote and actively support all Project HSE targets and initiatives
• Support the QA/QC Lead NEWS & Welding Specialist in ensuring that the specified Quality requirements are met and are consistent throughout the various project phases and locations
• Assist in coordinating QC activities Reports to Construction Contractors


Specifically the incumbent will:
• ISO data entry – entering weld mapped ISOs. Identify the components of the weld and determine the joint type size and thickness
• DWR data entry – enter daily fabrications
• NDE results data entry – enter NDE results
• Review random NDE selection – check low count NDE category and manual selections
• NDE selection report – send daily NDE selection report to contractor
o Welder Qualification data entry - Review contractor welder qualifications, Add project specific welder qualification test definitions
o Review welder lots – review initial and ongoing welder lots, clear completed/accepted lots
o Production trend report
o Reject trend report
o Welder productivity trend report
o NDE backlog trend report
• Hydro test clearance
• Participate in safety toolbox talks
• Participate in PMT weekly Quality meetings
• Work effectively with PMT Members, Construction Contractor’s and others to establish and maintain harmonious working interfaces during Project execution
• Develop excellent working relations and liaise fully with the Construction Contractor’s QC team at site

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience with NEWS environment software applications.
• Qualifications - ASNT – Level 2
•The position requires an ability to liaise effectively with Construction Contractors and Sub Contractors
The incumbent shall also:
• Be able to cope in a positive and productive manner within a high-pressure environment as expected in a large project with an aggressive schedule
• Be able to work well as a member of a large international multi-ethnic PMT
• Have good oral communication abilities and writing skills in the English language
