Job Title: Navil Architect
Job Location: Aberdeen

The Company:
Leading UK independent oil operator in the North Sea with a dynamic management team and exciting growth plans to develop operations further in the UKCS.

The Role:
· Manage work done by marine engineering and naval architecture subcontractor (stability, structure, marine systems)
· Provide weekly report of actual and forecasted progress/cost to Lead FPSO Engineer and Project Manager
· Ensure alignment of engineering deliverables with shipyard schedule
· Ensure appropriate class and/or certification obtained for all marine and mooring items procured for the project
· Ensure responsibilities between basic design and shipyard detailed design are clearly understood by shipyard
· Follow up shipyard detailed design and ensure compliance with overall design intent
· Follow up shipyard fabrication and installation activities to ensure compliance with design intent
· Resolve questions arising on site from shipyard
· Support project teams during project execution with discipline reviews, trouble shooting, HAZOP, audits, project risk reviews etc.
· Manage work done by mooring system design subcontractor
· Follow up orders for delivery of mooring chain and anchors
· Monitor orders for mooring chain spider strengthening and turret modification
· Manage integration of mooring chain spider an turret into hull structure

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
· BENG Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture, preferably Chartered Engineer
· Demonstrable industry experience working to an advance level of competence
· Significant work experience within the Marine/offshore industry
· Must have worked on site or shipyard on FPSO project from concept to completion
· Good knowledge of Marine strength, stability, motions, moorings, risers and space/weight management issues of FPSOs
· Good knowledge of applicable marine and floating production regulations
· Able to supervise work done by engineering subcontractors, equipment suppliers, shipyards
· Willing to work on site (European Shipyard
