The Company:
Our client is a leading Oil & Gas organisation with operations spanning the globe.

The Role:
The Level 3 NDE Engineer will advise and provide technical assurance on all NDE issues related to onshore pipelines, onshore terminal, offshore facilities and subsea systems as required.

The role will principally support Shah Deniz Stage 2 project but will also provide support to other Major Projects being executed within the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES
Level 3 NDE Engineer - General
• Ensure compliance with the relevant Technical Integrity and HSSE standards.
• Provide NDE technical support to pipelines, onshore facilities, offshore facilities and subsea production systems as required.
• Act as a source of technical expertise on NDE issues to Projects.
• Ensure that the Materials, Welding and Corrosion Lead Engineer and the Quality Manager as appropriate are kept appraised of key issues, status and outstanding actions related to NDE.
• Advise on use of standards and practices.
• Engage with Segment Engineering Technical Authoriy (SETA’s) and other NDE experts (including Global Subsea hardware Team GSHT specialists) to ensure adoption of best practise and transfer of lessons learnt to and from projects.

Technical Integrity
• Review, advise and engage with the Engineering Contractors on NDE issues and specifications for subsea, pipeline onshore and offshore facility workscopes.
• Ensure that the contractor’s NDT personnel are experienced and capable of performing and reporting the necessary examinations.
• Cross check a minimum of 5% of each of the contractor’s UT technician’s work on critical components. Ensure that NDT records are suitably collated for handover to BP.
• Review qualification plans for PAUT inspection of internally clad pipe and other CRA components.
• Review AUT qualification and system validation for pipelines and flowlines.

Contractor Management
• Review NDE specifications prepared by Contractors.
• Provide NDE support for fabrication, installation and commissioning tenders and evaluations.

Engineering Performance
• Protect and enhance BP’s reputation.
• Identify and deliver value opportunities.

Leadership
• Promote strong HSE performance within the team and contracting organisations.
• Promote and uphold the organisation Code of Conduct.
