The Role:
Currently looking for a NDT Consultant / Materials Engineer. Due to ambitious growth plans in the NDT Consultancy area we are looking for a talented individual to make a high quality technical contribution to research, development, and evaluation projects in the industrial inspection/NDT field (Friction, Lubrication Tribology).

Having responsibility for the identification, delivery and governance of projects, ensuring the company provides customers with the most appropriate and well engineered NDT solutions

As a NDT Consultant / Materials Engineer your main duties will involve:
• Design and develop new NDT procedures / NDT techniques and practices
• Development and maintenance of existing NDT software products (Mainly C ++and Visual Basic / VBA)
• Problem Solving and providing advice on in depth customer problems and providing clear guidance and innovative solutions as and when required in differing formats.
• Able to contribute to expert witness work
• Delivery of specialist technical consultancy relating to NDT consultancy projects
• Happy to work within a small team or as an individual
• Bidding for various contract work with varied customers and projects, including delivering presentations to prospective customers when required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Previous experience in the NDT field, or a closely related subject, including experience of experimental NDT, would be an advantage. Knowledge of Ultra Sonics and electromagnetic techniques would be an advantage.
• Software development skills in C ++, Visual Basic / VBA
• Experience of Fortran would be beneficial
• Strong ability to listen to client issues and problems, explicitly identify client requirements and communicate clearly to technical and non technical audiences
• Educated to degree level in either Physics, Materials or Engineering, a PhD is preferable but not essential
