The Company:
Our client is a Multinational Chemical company which will construct, own and operate a world-scale integrated chemicals complex in Saudi Arabia. Once completed, the complex will represent the largest petrochemical facility ever built in a single phase. Our client will establish a world-scale manufacturing footprint that delivers a full range of value-added, performance products destined for the emerging markets of Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa.

The Role:
Within the limits of his certifications, the incumbent is to proficiently conduct a full range of conventional Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods and to conduct, under direction of Sr Technician, advanced (non-conventional) NDT methods. Ensure the integrity and reliability of plant equipment in support of in-service plant inspections, quality control, and engineering studies.
1. Proficiently conduct conventional NDT methods which are commonly and widely used in the petrochemical industry. These methods include but not limited to: Liquid Penetrant (LP), Magnetic Particle (PMT), Radiography Test (RT), Ultrasonic Test (UT) including scanning & shear- wave, Bore-scoping, Infrared Thermography (IR), Positive Material Identification (PMI), Acoustic Emission based portable leak detectors and Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL).
2. Under direction of Senior NDT Technician, conduct advanced (non-conventional) NDT methods for applications that require advanced tools. These methods include RT of various energy levels, techniques & sources (e.g. Linear Accelerator and GAMA for high thickness material), Automated UT, Acoustic Emission (AE) for corrosion activity mapping and Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD) for crack and weld defects characterization, Eddy Current (EC) for tube inspection, Internal Rotary Inspection System (IRIS) for wall thickness loss profiling, Laser Optics (LOTIS) for corrosion under insulation (CUI) and others based on proven NDT technologies.
3. Understand procedure, standards and specifications relevant to NDT test for strict compliance and proper planning.
4. Ensure readiness of NDT tools for accurate measurements and results.
5. Work on handling radiation sources including loading, retrieval and control.
6. Evaluate system configuration and area where test to be conducted for readiness and safety.
7.Validate appropriate conventional NDT is adequately selected for the intended inspection, type of defect, failure mechanism, material and service.
8. Assist senior NDT technicians and inspectors in selecting the appropriate advanced (non-conventional) method for a specific application as directed.
9. Understand capabilities and limitations of available conventional NDT methods to help selecting the appropriate method.
10. Assist in developing NDT inspection discipline including procedures, qualification tests, strategies, etc.
11. Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of all codes and standards pertaining to NDT selection, execution and interpretation.
12. Communicate NDT examination progress, results, and recommendations per applicable codes and standards to inspectors, equipment owners, or other interested parties.
13. Write reports that detail scope, methods used and final results of NDT inspection performed.
14. Updates inspection records & data management system and successfully complete OJT tasks & assist in the training.
15. Perform any job-related activities as requested by the immediate supervisor/ manager.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
NDT Technician II :
• A Two-year (2) Technical College degree in Mechanical studies or equivalent or High School (industrial/science) degree with three years of experience and training in NDT.
• English Proficiency: Up to Level 7, TOFEL or equivalent.
• ASNT level II certification in five (5) conventional NDT methods (VT, PT, MT, UT & RT); certification in at least one advanced (non-conventional) NDT method ; completion of OJT Tasks; physical fit for equipment entry and climbing; valid Driver License.
NDT Technician I :
In addition to the above, the following qualifications shall apply:
•At least two advanced (non-conventional) NDT methods and ASNT RTFI (interpreter) Level II certifications for process equipment and piping.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
NDT Technician II:
• Five years (5) of experience in process plants inspection or maintenance post technical college or eight years (8) post high school. In both cases, at least three years (3) must be in NDT as assistant inspector.
NDT Technician I:
• Eight years (8) of experience in plant inspection or maintenance post technical college or eleven years (11) post high school. In both cases, at least six years (6) must be in inspection including three years (3) as NDT Technician.
