The Role:
Due to further significant growth within the organisation, our Client, a leading international Oil & Gas E&P company, are looking to appoint a New Business Development Team Leader to be based in Madrid. The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination of Geologists, Reservoir Engineers, Economic Analysts etc who are responsible for the evaluation studies for E&P projects, to present to the New Business Development Manager and Steering Committee, the best investment proposals.


Key Responsibilities include:
* Plan and coordinate the activities of the integrated teams, in order to assess the economic value of the business opportunities

* Ensure the quality of the opportunities’ evaluation in different aspects: technical, development, commercial, economical

* Present and defend internally the evaluations and the investment proposals

* Identify and capture business opportunities in E&P, inside the geographical areas that are considered of interest to the business

* Participate in relevant conferences and congresses

* Develop a broad networking with other E&P companies

* Negotiate with the vendors (or with the buyers) the conditions in which the business will participate in the projects, according to the parameters defined by management

Key skills / attributes:
* Minimum Bachelor degree in Engineering
* Upstream experience (essential)
* Circa 10 years E&P experience working on multiple projects and operations, in a client/ operator environment at a senior level, and at least 4 of them in business development
* A good understanding of the E&P business, which includes the ability to understand the competitors strategies, the vendors expectations and the risks of the new projects in new geographical areas
* Ability to understand different aspects of the business such as: technical, commercial, legal, fiscal systems, etc
* Ability to be an effective networker and to work across a wide range of disciplines and multi-cultural environments
* Availability to travel
* In a position to be based in / relocate to Spain

Salary in the region of of €140,000 per annum, bonus, generous housing allowance, schooling, transportation / car allowance, pension, annual flight home, single or family status relocation, favourable tax benefits, excellent future career progression opportunities worldwide.
