The Company:
A luxury Automotive OEM based in the West Midlands. After continued growth & success there are a number of new exciting engineering projects underway and we currently have requirements for experiences engineering professionals.

The Role:
Responsible for developing and delivering quality disciplines relating to vehicle and component design, development and launch for all future vehicles within Aston Martin and the supply base. This will also involve taking leadership of module areas and suppliers to achieve program targets. In addition the role will be supervisory and you will be required to manage a team of NMO engineers.

 The role is both an NMO engineer role and a supervisory role
 Manage a team of NMO engineers to ensure all KPI and annual plan targets are met
 Conduct 1 to 1 meetings and appraisals with direct report engineers
 Reporting to management team and communicating issues up and down
 Undergo training to be able to carry out static and dynamic vehicle evaluations both on road and the test track
 Manage the delivery of off tool, off process 100% accurate parts and final part approval for responsible commodities
 Confirm supplier manufacturing capacity status and ensure no negative impact to supply and quality during new model launch
 Work closely with our supply base to define improvement plans
 Lead the development and implementation of our quality principles with other teams internally and suppliers
 Drive quality history reviews and campaign prevention related activities to ensure no repeat issues from previous models.
 Agree the vehicle and parts quality requirement with PD, programme, manufacturing and suppliers to exceed customer expectations.
 Practical Problem Solving at all stages of program development, including launch.
 The post holder will undertake other duties as may be required to achieve the Company’s objectives.
 The candidate must be willing to travel as there will be the opportunity to visit suppliers both in the UK, Europe and worldwide.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
 Technical education to degree level or equivalent is desirable.
 Proven experience of quality tools including Supplier Part Approval Process (SPAP) and problem solving techniques desirable.
 Knowledge and experience of leading supplier quality improvement within new model launch or current vehicle environment desirable.
 Must be able to supervise a team of engineers
 Must have proven ability to lead cross functional team meetings both at AML and at supplier sites, defining clear improvement action plans
 Ability to self manage and work under pressure to deliver quality, production and engineering requirements would be essential.
 Must be able to apply problem solving techniques to improve process capability, repeatability and reliability at both AML and supplier sites
 Must have strong communication skills and a proven ability to develop good teamwork with cross functional peers
 Skills in reliability and robustness engineering desirable.
 Knowledge of Quality Tools
