The Role:
Key activities:
• Generation of new ideas is crucial. The team works closely pro actively generate opportunities for future exploration. Early entry to
a play is the best way to maximise value and this is best achieved by pursuing under explored or immature basins;
• In addition to internally generated concepts there is also a steady flow of farm-in proposals and mergers and acquisitions opportunities that need to be evaluated
and ranked (the vast majority are rejected).
• This role will lead and contribute to evaluation and preparation of presentation material for New Venture activity with the goal of securing a decision on the
viability of new positions or opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
• Identify, evaluate and acquire material, high quality New Venture opportunities that will enhance our client's existing exploration prospect portfolio;
• Undertake regional and basin evaluations of specific plays, generating play fairway evaluations to capture resource ranges, key risks and uncertainties;
• Working to drive continuous development of geophysical evaluation work-flows, techniques and communicate these to asset staff and management;
• Support and when required, participate in internal reviews of New Venture proposals;
• Maintain a high profile externally as you build links with local industry, university and professional bodies and work closely with key contacts in governments, partners and
contractors;

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum of Masters qualification in Geophysics or related field with proven experience in the oil and gas industry;
• Experience of undertaking regional exploration studies, play evaluations, prospect ranking and reserves estimation, preferably across several countries, multiple basins
and with different play and different reservoir types;
• Strong geophysical expertise (data acquisition, processing and qualitative/quantitative interpretation) at regional and prospect level;
• Working knowledge of exploration processes from play fairway analysis to prospect maturation, volumetric assessment, risk assessment and the synthesis of diverse
regional datasets;
• Working knowledge of structural and stratigraphic interpretation methods, including sequence stratigraphy;
• Working knowledge of the geological settings and of both shelf and deep water depositional systems and architectures;
• Experience of interpretation and evaluation of 2D and 3D seismic, gravity,
