The Company:
Our Client is an international oil and gas company with operated production of about 650,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in various offshore and onshore locations. They have ongoing exploration and production activities worldwide, and have over 50 years of experience turning marginal and challenging fields into commercial successes.

The Role:
The successful candidate will act as the Company’s representative onboard Drilling Rigs and be accountable for all operations on the rig. The rig supervisor ensures that all activities are carried out efficiently with due consideration to both the safety of personnel and the environment and works toward an incident free Company. This is an offshore Angola rotating 28/28 days role with occasional onshore office rotations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•In all aspects represent the Company and it’s policies to the best of his/her abilities and at all times be a role model in matters relating to Safety and the Environment.
•Report all offshore activities in accordance with established reporting systems and standards.
•Continuously monitor and evaluate drilling/completion operations and suggest improvements where applicable.
•Ensure that all activities carried out by both the Drilling Contractor and sub-contractors are done safely, according to approved programmes and in accordance with applicable Company procedures and Governmental regulations.
•Monitor operational performance trends and where required, ensure corrective measures are implemented immediately.
•Plan and coordinate for timely arrival of required materials, equipment and service personnel.
•Maintain good cost control on drilling operation expenditures.
•Periodically check on Drilling Contractors equipment and personnel in order to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled and work performed safely and efficiently.
•Ensure that all work, for which the Well Site Engineer is responsible, is completed to the required standards.
•Ensure that any emergency situation onboard the unit is handled promptly, effectively and in accordance with Company’s Contingency Plans.
•Ensure lessons learned are captured and reported in accordance with the Company After Action Review system.
•Ensure a pleasant working environment on the rig and maintain high moral.
•Network across the Company and the industry for all aspects of deepwater Drilling.

SPECIFIC PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
•Angola exploration, appraisal and development projects in multiple Offshore Angola E&P Blocks.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Minimum of ten years offshore experience.
•Deepwater operational experience will be an asset.
•Good technical and operational understanding of drilling and/or completions.
•Practical contractor experience is a plus for Drilling Supervisors.
•Ability to work independently with a small measure of supervision.
•Strong safety management, people, analytical and technical skills.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering will be an asset.
•Must be a team player.
•High quality standards and a sense of urgency will be extremely beneficial.
