The Company:
With interests in over 20 UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) fields, my Client has one of the most significant exploration and production businesses in the offshore waters of the UK.

The Role:
The primary high level purpose of the position is to provide well engineering technical support aligned with Operated by Others (OBO) Business Unit Asset Objectives, as a member of a cross functional integrated team.

This involves the day to day oversight of well engineering for Europe E&P OBO Business Unit Asset for non-operated exploration operations and the following partner operated operations, including all aspects of well construction, operational integrity & interventions;

TOTAL Operated: Elgin, Glenelg, Franklin & West Franklin.

Duties include assurance of the operator’s well engineering drilling plans for the various infill wells, perform functional reviews ahead of AFE approval, engage operator at TCMs and workshops, review the drilling reports and correspond with the operator. Technology and Knowledge transfer into and out to partner operated activities is also considered a critical component of the work, particularly HPHT drilling knowledge transfer to cLIENT operated Jackdaw Development.

The well engineering non-operated support model for this role is anticipated to permit a dedicated full time team leader and supporting well engineering and integrity functions to provide focused support and challenge model. Other supporting disciplines are available for consultation on an as required basis


Key Accountabilities
Accountable for ensuring the timely and accurate daily reporting of OBO activities.
Accountable for ensuring the timely and accurate compilation of additional weekly and monthly activity reporting summaries.

Regular attendance and participation in OBO Asset integrated team meetings, requiring well engineering technical support.

Regular attendance of partner organised technical planning meetings.
Accountable for providing appropriate technical comment and advice to OBO Asset as required.

Pro-actively influencing the Operator to ensure and protect client interests.

Organise & undertake internal technical Functional Review (FR) in support of the BG Value Assurance Framework (VAF) as driven by the Readiness Review (RR) requirements of the OBO Assets.

Ensure the organised filing of all well engineering related technical documents, reports and presentations.

Maintain awareness of Operated activities with the objective of identifying Knowledge Transfer opportunities both into client and also out to partners.
Accountable for ensuring that all documentation to which client is entitled through the Joint Operating Agreement is received and filed.
Accountable for tracking and reporting of H.S.E. incidents and the informal sharing of appropriate material to maximise the cross learning between the organisations.

Where practicable encourage and facilitate technical knowledge transfer and collaboration between the Operator and Client.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Prior HPHT experience is considered preferable.


Self motivated independent contributor with the ability to get on with the job with minimal additional support.

Comfortable with a wide range of well engineering activity from Drilling, Completion, Interventions and Well Integrity.

Previous experience in working and influencing non-Operated partnerships.

Previous experience of working with TOTAL, would be considered of benefit, together with ENI

Experienced and strong well engineering technical background.

Working knowledge of French would be considered to be of benefit.

Conscientious, calm, patient & diplomatic personality with the ability to establish a collaborative working relationship with key Operator personnel.
