The Company:
Our Client is one of the UK's leading suppliers of instrumentation for a diverse range of applications in the nuclear industry.

The Role:
Suitable candidates will relish the variety and challenges presented by Project and Professional Services work, and work effectively delivering key elements of the solution to the team and ultimately the customers/stakeholders. More experienced applicants would be placed in Technical Lead roles and all successful applicants can expect to be coached and mentored into an expanding remit. This will lead to widening opportunities alongside some of the most experienced people in this field.

Typical assignments will include:-
• Interpreting the measurement requirements of customers and application of the most suitable techniques to meet them.
• Using mathematical models to predict measurement performance in physical applications.
• Analysing measured data in sentencing and inventory processes where interpretation is beyond machine capability
• Developing new and innovative applications in product or system development
• Setting up, testing, calibrating and characterising radiometric measuring processes either in new systems or on customers’ existing equipment
• International collaborative projects, delivering or leading on the physics or related elements of work packages.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Skills requirements
• Able to communicate at all levels with good interpersonal, organisational and team based skills
• A leader or future leader
• Self-motivated to work either autonomously or within a multi-disciplinary team
• Good analytical and problem solving skills but also practical enough to set up and use complex electronics and software
• Able to follow process rigour and drive through to an assured quality result
Profile (education and rising levels of experience)
• Physics or applied physics degree or equivalent
• Experience of using radiation transport modelling codes (MCNP, ISOCS etc.)
• A knowledge of radiation measurement techniques
• Practical experience of using radiometric measuring equipment and data acquisition/analysis
• Experience of working on nuclear licenced sites
• UK Security clearance to SC or higher will be a requisite of any post so candidates must be in a position to successfully apply for this if not already in place
