The Company:
Our client is an International Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Company with operations in 16 countries, they have achieved spectacular growth in the past ten years, growth which they expect to continue.

There Southern North Sea (North) facility comprises both on and offshore natural gas production and processing facilities. They include 18 offshore producing gas platforms off the east coast of Yorkshire.

The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of our Normally Unmanned Installation delivery team based in the clients Southern North Sea (North) Assets.

Working on a rotational basis you will report directly to the NUI Operations Engineer and will be expected to supervise a team of multi-skilled technicians to safely operate and maintain our platforms within the normal operational and maintenance Procedures.

Key responsibilities include:
• Lead the tech/ops morning shift meeting, ensuring all handovers are covered (Desk, plant and OTL) and ensure everyone is aware of any plant related problems, activities for the day. Liaise with onshore ops as appropriate.
• Ensure that there is the appropriate level of co-ordination and communication between the OIM/OOE to the Tech/ops to ensure the safe day to day running of the platform and optimum use of tech op skills.
• Provide focal point for any plant or team issues.
• Ensure that maintenance activities within the operations and maintenance responsibility are completed in a safe and timely manner and that appropriate records are kept.
• Ensure operations routine checks are carried out and plant upsets are prioritised and dealt with in an efficient manner.

• Assist outside operator as required to maintain efficient operations, e.g. loading & launching of pipeline spheres, plant checks etc.
• Maintenance activities are planned prioritised and executed in a safe efficient manner.
• Ensure that gas tests, bleed point monitoring and flange tagging are completed.
• Work with maintenance personnel to plan isolations, purge and leak test activities in support of maintenance requirements.
• Maintain current effective operational procedures and local rules.
• Provide assistance for project work, working with vendors as required.
• Carry out Area Authority Role for control of work activitities
• Ensure comprehensive daily and weekly handovers take place.
• Complete appraisals for team members and take an active role in their personal development.
• Encourage team members “buy in” to PCAP and other initiatives to help with their implementation and completion in a timely manner.
• Ensure team members are at a competency level adequate to fulfil their roles and responsibilities and provide the necessary coaching to achieve this.

Environment:

• Ensuring environmental hazards are identified and managed in Task risk assessments.
• Operate and maintaining effective controls of environmental aspects. This entry could specify the controls that are designed to manage the site’s relevant aspects, e.g. SEREP.
• Respond to unplanned events with environmental consequences.
• Emissions/Discharge sampling.
• Assuring competence with respect to environmental responsibilities.

Safety Related Tasks:

• Provide safety leadership to the offshore teams making the appropriate interventions to prevent unsafe situations or unacceptable risks being taken whilst ensuring work is carried out efficiently.
• Demonstrate own safety commitment to all platform staff by working in a safe manner. Talk with other personnel to ensure they deliver the expected standards of safety. Attend site safety meetings toolbox talks and safety stand downs to show commitment.

• Ensure all safety policies and procedures are adhered to over and above utilising ISSOW/SIRP, critical valve register.
• Utilise safety behavioural tools such as toolbox talks, PSLP and POST to enhance safety performance of platform personnel and visitors.
• Know and apply appropriate risk management practices to all activities


Qualification/Experience requirements/Personal attributes:
• The individual would be qualified to minimum ONC/ TEC 3 in engineering background or in a relevant trade with a strong knowledge of process operations in the offshore gas production industry.
• Ideally have Management of Major Emergencies (MOME) experience on NUI Facilities.
• In addition, the jobholder must have strong leadership skills in order to develop others, provide timely feedback and guidance to the technicians. He/she must also be able to facilitate change where the tasks are complex, unclear or uncertain
