The Company:
A luxury Automotive OEM based in the West Midlands. After continued growth & success there are a number of new exciting engineering projects underway and we currently have requirements for experienced engineering professionals.

The Role:
NVH Body Leader to support all models. Responsible from initial design feasibility through FDJ and SOP, covering modal alignment, panel optimisation, damping, local point dynamic stiffness, noise and vibration transfer functions, and mechanism sound character.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

A senior member of the NVH team, you will be responsible for leading development and integration activities on all models with V8 and V12 engines, and multiple transmission options.
• You will be responsible for leading NVH body optimisation with experience of the following measurement methods:
◦ Modal alignment strategy and delivery
◦ Panel noise optimisation and damping
◦ Local point and body dynamic stiffness
◦ Noise and vibration transfer functions
◦ Mechanism sound character

• You will be familiar with structure-borne road noise and vibration reduction techniques:
◦ Multi-reference transfer path, principal component and modal analysis
• Maintain a strong working relationship with the Body engineering team
• Delivery of NVH full vehicle solutions from benchmarking, targets setting through development and verification.
• Deliver optimum engineering solutions with successful and timely resolution of issues.
• Plan and manage internal and external test facility and resource.
• Follow our client's Programme Control System process and ensure all required information and actions are completed within requested time.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A good understanding of design guidelines for NVH mitigation; test, development, and verification requirements for NVH body sub-attribute.
• Knowledge of state of the art NVH development techniques including latest hardware and software development tools.
• Ability to deliver a cross platform integration strategy.
• Min 5 year automotive experience in NVH development and issue mitigation.
• Experience of working in NVH test environment.
• Subjective evaluation of vehicle attributes.
• Ability to process, analysis and report test data.
• Good knowledge and mentality on problem solving process (e.g. 8D, 6 sigma).
• Knowledge on AMPCS or equivalent product creation process (GPDS, FPDS).
• Knowledge of LMS Test.Lab, HEAD ArtemiS, or GFaI Acoustic Camera Noise Image.
• Strong time management, accuracy, diligence, ability to balance and prioritise multiple tasks to meet customer needs.
• Ability to work confidently alone or as part of a team.
