The Role:
Engine NVH Development Engineer Powertrain (PT) NVH Attribute responsibility for engine programs
Development of NVH targets and negotiation with the base engine teams and the vehicle customer
Develop testing and analysis plans for internal and external NVH testing, to support the program timing
Initiate, run, supervise all kinds of NVH-investigations on total PT, engine and subsystem level
Perform analysis and interpretation of the test results. Derive proposals for design changes to improve the engine NVH behaviour based on the NVH testing
Present the results of testing, design proposals within the Ford organisation up to senior management
Support engine programs to deliver the overall targets for customer satisfaction
They will also need to lead component & design teams in resolution of refinement issues. Major responsibilities listed do not necessarily include a description of all essential and non-essential position responsibilities.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience more important that qualifications
Proven team working capability and NVH experience.
Detailed knowledge of engine design and combustion process
Detailed knowledge in acoustic data acquisition systems
Detailed knowledge in test data analysis
Detailed knowledge in the field of sound quality and psychoacoustics
Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills
Candidate must have ability to work as part of a team
Strong interpersonal skills and experience with working in international / multicultural teams.
PC literate in MS Outlook / Excel / Word / PowerPoint
Full EU driving license

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
2.1 Engineering Degree
Three year's NVH experience (not necessarily automotive.) Will look at graduates (Aero/Auto/Mech Eng'g) should have a final year project or work experience related to noise or vibration investigation.
Project management, PC skills: Excel, Word, Powerpoint and database applications.
