The Role:
NVH Engineer
When required, implement new NVH methods and processes.
Track powertrain and vehicle programs to ensure sign-off documentation is maintained at or driving towards acceptability.
Measure, interpret and engineer within both vehicle and powertrain.
Maintain links with the customer and supplier base to ensure delivery of effective, state of the art acoustic solutions.
Maintain close links with all product development centres to ensure commonised global acoustic solutions.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
University Degree in relevant technical subject to BEng (Minimum 2:1). Degree in Acoustics, Automotive Engineering or similar required.
Test experience is desirable but it is equally as important that the applicant has a good engineering background and is able to apply themselves to problem solving within the NVH arena. Must be independent but able to work as part of a team, creative and flexible.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong project management skills.
Good negotiation skills required.
Ability to understand and root cause a variety of powertrain acoustic issues related to powertrain components.
Strong drive for results and initiative.
The position will require a flexible approach to working. Powertrain/vehicle instrumentation and testing activities. Data acquisition ( LMS Test.Lab / HEAD Artemis).
Data analysis, signal processing and reporting.
Subjective assessments of vehicles and powertrains.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Higher degree desirable but not mandatory.
Candidates will find it advantageous to have some knowledge in any of the following areas: Torsional Vibration Measurement. Gearbox Noise & Vibration Measurements. Powertrain Bending, Moment of Inertia, FE/modal Correlation. Intake & Exhaust Noise Measurement. NVH assessment of subsystem components. Audio Feedback of Powertrain Noise, Noise Filtering and Level Appraisal. Analysis of Sound Metrics, Jury Appraisal FEAD/READ/Ancillary assessment Resonant Frequency Analysis, Vibration Testing, Rig Testing Test and Development experience in NVH technologies. Experience with acoustics engineering would be an advantage.
Good understanding of English verbal and written language is required, German as 2nd language would be advantageous.
