The Company:
Our client is a leading global oil and gas operating company.

The Role:
The OBO PE is expected to function across a range of disciplines; e.g. Discipline Engineering, Project Management and Operations Management. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who seek to gain a business perspective and have an influence over a wide range of issues.

On a day to day basis, the OBO PE is accountable to the OBO Project Manager for facilities, projects and operations oversight of Company activities and coordination with Company’s subsurface personnel regarding oversight of operations and development planning activities. The position is a key networking role within Company and key influencing role with the operator. Occasional travel to the North Slope is anticipated, as necessary.

The primary objectives of the OBO Team are to encourage excellence in HS&E, maximize production, optimize capital and operating costs, and pursue economic development of reserves. The specific areas of responsibility for the OBO PE include providing:

• Oversight of camp and Integrity work consistent with the appropriate aspects of Company’s Operating Management System.
• Oversight of facility planning, including development planning and 3rd party facility sharing arrangements.
• Oversight of facility projects, including scope, schedule and capex budget.
• Oversight of acility operations, including lifting cost budget.
• Facilitation of information and other sharing between North Slope operators to achieve best practices and cost efficiency.

Other accountabilities include:
• Understand risks related to operating practices and proposed project options and work with operator to mitigate those risks.
• Develop strong working relationships to ensure the most appropriate and efficient development and operation while protecting Company’s interests.
• Provide technical review of proposed projects. Coordinate review by other Company technical resources when appropriate.
• Drive internal process for securing funding for facility projects. This includes: analyzing benefits and risks, providing information for financial analysis, developing benchmark data, preparing Financial Memorandums and preparing/presenting management reviews.
• Provide technical review and approval of AFE’s for facility expenditures.
• Monitor operator’s spend against budgets and FM targets.
• Identify opportunities and facilitate sharing of operating practices between operators.
• Develop and provide input to Company’s Long Term Plan for projects.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
B.S. in Engineering

The successful applicant will need a minimum of 15 years experience in related upstream technical roles; i.e. prior discipline engineering, project, and/or operations experience. In addition to a strong technical skill set, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a track record of achievement and skills listed below:

• Ability to solve multi-discipline issues with other team members.
• Demonstrated skillful influencing of others.
• Achieved solid technical, project management &/or operational background on oil field facilities (processing plants and pipelines).

• Experience implementing Company's CVP process.
• Familiarity with Alaska’s North Slope oil fields.
