The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
The Offsets Advisor provides advice to management on all topics relating to environmental offsets, implements programs and packages, as well as developing processes for recording ongoing disturbance of vegetation and fauna habitat requiring offsets.

Responsibilities include:
• Identify optimum offsets to meet the obligations and subsequent permit approval conditions
• Communicate the process to be followed to secure specific offsets
• Raise awareness of strategic options that may be available to combine offset requirements across different government agency requirements
• Implement Company’s Environmental Offset program and packages
• Manage expert ecological and offset subconsultants
• Support Land Access and Commercial departments in negotiating arrangements with landholders
• Develop process for recording ongoing disturbance of vegetation and fauna habitat requiring offsets and to reconcile on a regular basis

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualified in an environmental/ecological science subject, or equivalnet years experience
• Professional experience in the ecological assessment and/or environmental offsets areas in Queensland which has involved performance of field ecological assessments, environmental offset value assessments
• Experience leading teams of ecological experts & discussions with regulators on ecological assessments and environmental offset proposals
• Experience developing environmental offset strategies and plans in Queensland
• Experience providing advice to senior management of private industry companies

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Familiarity with various GIS software packages (eg. Arcview, Arcinfo)
