The Company:
Our Client is a global Energy Leader with a strong commitment to Honest and Ethical Business Practices within the Oil and Gas Industry. Our Client operates as an independent energy company. It has four segments: Oil and Gas, Syncrude, Energy Marketing, and Chemicals. The Oil and Gas segment explores, develops, and produces crude oil, natural gas, and related products.

The Role:
The P&P Offshore Coach will work with the Platform Management Team, offshore personnel and functional departments onshore in order to support them in taking ownership of Improvement Plans and to help them embed sustainable operational changes within the organisation. This is to be accomplished through the use of recognized Coaching skills that focus on behavioural change management.

The P&P Offshore Coach will be expected to facilitate change in an environment where behavioural resistance can be challenging and the position will be required to drive and embed sustainable operational processes within the organisation.

The P&P Offshore coach will report to and be supported by the Coaching Manager and will work closely with the P&P Project Managers and onshore work stream leads.

Conduct all activities in a safe and effective manner and raise safety and environmental issues immediately through the reporting chain and in line with Corporate policy. Role model safe behaviour and attitudes. Accept nothing less in others.

Undertake duties in a way that maximises value and minimises waste and risk. Identify opportunities for business improvement.
Technical/Functional:
Manage and prioritise activities, working effectively with the Platform Management Team, offshore personnel, onshore support organisation and the Planning & Performance Team in order to support the development and implementation of Improvement Plans within the clients Aberdeen’s operations.
Work effectively as part of the team, ensuring co-ordination with the Coaching Manager, other Coaches and Project Managers, in order to deliver change in a consistent way
Transfer skills and knowledge to offshore and onshore personnel through coaching, mentoring, and training
Communicate effectively with all key stakeholders (offshore and onshore) in order to provide progress updates. Anticipate, highlight and mitigate potential issues, in order to facilitate full implementation of Improvement Plans
Provide specialist coaching skills and techniques to individuals and groups
Conduct offshore communication to the workforce through PowerPoint presentations and other media
Act as focal point for the collation of feedback to the Project Managers
Observe and coach meetings using the MCRS model, provide feedback and guidance on SMART actions
Collate performance information to monitor progress against KPI’s
Provide opportunity for individuals to receive one on one performance coaching (NOT counselling)

Collaboration:
Collaborate with others in the team and look for opportunities to maximise networks to develop safe, practical and effective solutions. Develop relationships and rapport with all sections of the business. Take every opportunity to communicate the P&P message.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
Continuously develop coaching methods by seeking feedback from colleagues and key stakeholders. Comply with the clients project management disciplines, effectively utilise knowledge databases and actively participate in project reviews. Search for areas of improvement and actively plan problem solutions.
Capability Development:
Look for opportunities to develop technical and personal skills both by formal learning interventions and work experience. Coach team colleagues where appropriate and demonstrate a personal commitment to lifelong learning. Use every day as a learning opportunity.
People Processes:
Ensure confidentiality of one to one Coaching sessions and use line management to highlight potential issues through the Coaching Manager. Keep the OIM informed of any issues that are escalated onshore, within the bounds of confidentiality and applicability.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Ability to maintain positivity and influence behavioural dynamics
Proven experience of coaching and instruction
Excellent computer and communication skills (verbal, interpersonal, written, presentation)
Proficiency in evaluating problems from differing view-points and recognising possible root causes of problems (i.e. compliance/ system design/ training/ leadership issues)

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience of the UK offshore oil and gas industry and a thorough knowledge of operational issues, performance improvements and long term sustainability (previous offshore experience preferred)
