The Company:
Our client, an international major oil and gas operator, seeks an HSE Lead to join their team.

The Role:
• Performing HES inspection activities, participate in safety leadership team discussions with vessel captain and vessel HES Manager, identifying risk, mitigating risk or hazardous conditions, lead an HES team, gather and report metrics (leading and lagging), participate in sea trials.
• Able to give Safety Training to various audiences large and small.
• Strong communication and computer skills, including expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access is required.
• Be familiar with HAZOPs, HAZIDs, Dropped Object Studies, Hazard Analysis, and other safety analysis to ensure the project is performed as safely as possible.
• Must be able to develop safety documentation and presentation materials for safety review board meetings. Complete additional tasking associated with the conduct of the safety program, as necessary, which may include research, evaluation of known safety problems, evaluation of requirements, review of test documentation, writing reports on findings and presenting them to the team.
• Candidate must have a working knowledge of Safety in Design criteria, OSHA safety requirements, marine safety requirements, inspections, and review contractors’ standard operating procedures and project plans and identify critical information that could impact the project. The candidate will serve as a HES Lead offshore during the installation campaign.
• Onboard the vessel the candidate will participate in the safety leadership team, perform inspections, write reports, lead HES Specialist, communicate opportunities for improvement, help the team accomplish safety goals, ensure safety execution is per the plan.
• Candidate will help the team plan, integrate with the COMPANY team and contractor team to evaluate safety aspects of the vessel, procedures and project procedures.

Travel:
Candidate will be based in Houston with possible travel overseas. The candidate must be able to work a rotational shift when the construction of the pipeline commences in 2013 for a period of 3 months.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety Engineering or related field.
• Must have at least 10 years of HES job-related experience.
• Must have previous experience working offshore and understand marine vessel safety, offshore construction activities, pipeline installation/construction activities.
