The Company:
Our major oil and gas operating company is in need of an Installation Advisor to work on a long term contract.

The Role:
REPORTS TO: Production Projects Construction Manager
SUPPORTS: Installation Planning and Execution

MAIN FUNCTIONS
• Provide input into Installation safety program objectives
• Input to strategies and plans to support successful installation planning and execution
• Participate in concept screening/selection and other early project planning efforts
• Provide core competency/expert Installation consultation to functional and project teams
• Train and mentor Installation planning and/or execution personnel
• Provide input for OBO projects as requested
• Provide technical leadership for vulnerability and risk assessments
• Provide organizational and staffing assistance to Project teams

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Act as an Installation technical consultant to various Project teams
• Ensure appropriate application of risk management principles and practices
• Identify gaps/vulnerabilities in plans, tools, performance, etc… and recommend solutions/mitigations
• Provide expert technical input to concept screening/selection, contracting strategy and other early project planning deliverables
• Champion/share best practices and Installation systems/tools with project teams. Support balanced and consistent application of Installation systems/tools across projects
• Be knowledgeable of diving / ROV & vessel operations, platform salvage / decommissioning including industry wide developments / trends
• Review and endorse key contractor procedures / deliverables
• Participate in peer review of installation costs, schedules, and execution plans
• Organize and/or participate in vessel audits and critical activity reviews
• Assist with identification, evaluation and selection of installation personnel for emerging projects
• Participate in training and act as mentor to early experience Installation Engineers
• Provide expertise in the pre-qualification of contractors, evaluation of contractors and maintenance of strategic relationships
• Lead and/or participate in Readiness Reviews and Independent Project Reviews

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• BS/MS in Engineering or Construction Management
• High level of offshore installation knowledge, skill, and experience (includes many areas of offshore installation activities such as platform / other heavy lift, shallow / deepwater PL, subsea architecture (manifold, flowlines, risers, umbilicals, etc), & deepwater mooring systems)
• General knowledge about the client or similar “gate based” project management systems
• 15+ years offshore industry experience (greenfield but preference for brownfield also)
