The Company:
A major operating company whose activities include exploration, production, refining, transport, and storage.

The Role:
Directs and controls the execution of all multi-discipline activities related to the support and services on project FMB and unmanned STP’s (Remote facilities) to meet the project requirements in a safe and efficient manner and in close liaison with project representative, within the approved annual operations budget and department’s objectives & targets.
 Deals and interacts with various ranks and levels of project representatives.
 Ensures the availability of all operations/maintenance plans, manpower, spare parts and work boats for the operation and maintenance of the support services for project platforms. Propose technically practicable changes to enhance system efficiency and operation.
 Held accountable for the overall operation & maintainability of the support and services for the project Facilities and ensures all activities are conducted with due regard for operational priorities and the safety of personnel and equipment under his responsibility

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Directs, manages and co-ordinates the activities of assigned company personnel & Contractors engaged in the operation and execution of preventive, predictive & corrective maintenance and repair work on the project facilities.
2. Controls all Operations / maintenance on project FMB and STP’s facilities. Coordinates and get approval from the Assistant Manager, Operations for the release of equipment and the scheduling of repair activities. Determines requirements for the use of contractors.
3. Investigates breakdowns, determines resources, ensures correct spares are ordered, organizes and schedules the emergency repairs after breakdowns. Follows up and coordinates with Lead Maintenance Operations Engineer “Doha Based” if further investigation required.
4. Advises and sets up the work and leave schedule for maintenance and operations Staff along with assigned Contractors to ensure adequate coverage at all times in order to minimize shortage in manpower and overtime.
5. Controls the provision of accommodation, food, general services and first aid facilities on the platform, ensuring the cleanliness of the various areas and carrying out regular checks on the quality of the food. Decides on priorities for beds and helicopter seats and manages the overall manpower requirement.
6. Controls Operations related expenditures, participates in the development of the Operations budget for equipment and facilities in liaison with the Assistant Manager, Operations.
7. Carries out investigations into repetitive equipment failures, directing the collection of information and participating in specific equipment monitoring surveys. Coordinates the planning & execution of equipment overhauls.
8. Reviews work of contractors involved in projects to ensure Corporation standards are being met. Prepares incident reports as required.
9. Participates, at the required level, in ongoing development and training of the department’s Qatari employees (job holders, PCP’s and Trainees). Monitors, assists and advises to progress, or review, the development of trainees.
10. Investigates requirements for plant improvement schemes. Reviews operational procedures and submits amendments for approval.
11. Prepares evaluation reports for immediate subordinates and reviews those prepared by them covering all other staff.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
 B.Sc. in a relevant Engineering discipline.
 Fifteen {15} years experience of which at least seven {7} years in a supervisory position, preferable in an offshore platform. Familiar with maintenance work control, contracting, budgetary and cost control procedures.
 Good interpersonal relation and managerial skills to analyse and solve problems onsite within his capacity. Should be able to handle offshore emergencies as an on-site team leader.
 Works within the framework of Corporation policies, petroleum industry standards and approved operating procedures. Designs working methods to comply with corporate policies and procedures to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the project Facilities (FMB & STP’s). Exercises a high degree of discretion in deciding work priorities and uses initiative to resolve technical and administrative problems.
