The Role:
Manages shipping and receiving of materials and personnel for drilling rig. Duties performed under general supervision.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

- Works with drilling engineers, drilling supervisors, service companies, onshore logistics, and operations geologists to ensure that deep water wells are drilled efficiently and completed for early and long term well productivity
- Ensures that all materials and personnel are tracked to and from the rig and that all costs associated with drilling and completing the well are captured when possible
- Supervises the loading and offloading of vessels at the rig site, ensuring that materials loaded and offloaded match with the manifest for accounting and tracking purposes
- Coordinates with drilling supervisors, drilling engineers, and operations geologists to ensure that all materials and personnel movements are executed at rig site
- In coordination with the team, ensures that lessons learned and related recommendations are included in future programs
- Liaises with rig contractors and service companies to ensure that personnel, services, materials, equipment, etc. are available in quantity and quality as required to drill wells
- Maintains good working relations with contractors
- Monitors and implements risk reducing measures
- Takes immediate actions to safeguard personnel, assets, and environment emergency situations related to well construction operations
- Report to drilling supervisors about any potential or actual logistical problems or any significant deviations in the planned running of operations, with particular attention to the HSSE
- Liaises with logistics base to optimize land, sea, and air transports, minimizing trips and optimizing shipping and handling of materials and personnel to support rig operations
- Ensures that materials, equipment, and services are mobilized / demobilized in an effective and timely manner
- Tracks daily offshore costs for input into daily cost reports
- Inputs cost data into daily reports as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities

- Relevant offshore rig supervisory background
- Familiarity with international operational and environmental logistics and operations
- Experience working in a multi-disciplined environment with geologists, reservoir engineers, drilling engineers, subsea engineers, and logistics
- Experience working and liaising in an NOC or BSEE-regulated environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication, problem solving, leadership, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplined team in a high-performance environment
- Proficiency in English language, oral and written
- Proficiency in Portuguese language, oral and written

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent; 5 years relevant experience as a materials clerk or warehouse supervisor
