The Company:
With interests in over 20 UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) fields, my Client has one of the most significant exploration and production businesses in the offshore waters of the UK.

The Role:
The Materials Controller, as a member of the Platform team and specialist in his own area, plays a key role in the management of all materials procured, hired, serviced or repaired, stock or non-stock. Responsible for the management of materials to support platform maintenance, production or well intervention activities in order to ensure improvement opportunities are identified, supported, realised and in a cost effective manner.

You will be accountable for ensuring compliance with Europe E&P, and company Advance standards and whenever and wherever possible industry best practice is applied to support ongoing improvement in operational performance.

Key Accountabilities


- Contributes to a culture of continuous HSSE performance improvement.
- Ensure that Material Control activities on the Platform fully comply with company practices, current legislation and safe systems of work.

Material Controller

- Management of Offshore stores including receipt, control and issue of spares, consumables and equipment.
- Logistical support necessary for the movement of materials required to and from the installation including delivery of materials to work site.
- Coordination of the supply and repair of materials required to support planned and unplanned maintenance and operations work.
- Maintenance of comprehensive and accurate records of materials transactions and logistics activities.
- Execution of installation Waste management policy and procedure including accurate documentation of all shipments and ensuring provision of adequate equipment.
- Optimisation of the deck and storage utilisation.
- Preparation and issue of documentation in accordance with regulations governing the shipment of goods classified by the UN as dangerous for shipment by Air or Sea.
- Act as focal point for stock suppliers and manage the procurement, shelf-life, storage and maintenance of all platform owned sub store and main store equipment, keeping the critical spares holding current.
- Track all hired equipment providing reports to highlight visibility
- Maintain visibility of stock and provide reports as required to encourage turnover.
- Perform annual offshore stock audits and assess the effectiveness of the arrangements in place.
- Ensuring chemical stocks are maintained in conjunction with Production Dept and Offshore Chemist.

- Ensure all Work Orders have requisitions to procure attached where necessary.

- Encourage and promote safe working practice within the sphere of influence. Liaise with onshore discipline engineers, logistics functions and offshore focal points and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.

- Support onshore buyer to expedite all material purchase orders ensuring prompt delivery by air of sea, updating CMMSto reflect realistic delivery dates against work orders.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Proven capability in material control functions in an offshore oil & gas environment. Ideally skilled in operation of gas, oil & utilities aspect of production facilities.
- Proven capability in measuring and reporting data to deliver performance improvements.
- Perform in an emergency response role as defined in the company procedures, managing and controlling emergencies response action in the event of accidents or incidents
- Experience of warehousing operations,
- Experience Stock Management and Procurement skills
- Experience of coordinating logistics and the supply of resources for planned maintenance activities
- Systems literate – experience of computerised management systems e.g. SAP, Maximo,
- Computer Literate – Spreadsheets, word etc,
- Able to manage own time and apply relevant time management techniques to ensure timely delivery set work activities.
- Actively exhibits cost conscious and value adding mindset to all that is done.
