The Company:
Our client is the largest gas producer in the Netherlands, with annual production of around 50 billion m³. 70 % of gas (37 billion m³) comes from the Groningen field and the rest from various smaller fields elsewhere on the mainland and in the North Sea (15 billion m³).

The Role:
In this role, you’ll be responsible for the structural engineering discipline aspects of a number of assets, and should be capable of verifying contractors’ design, change and repair proposals. We’ll also expect you to:

• Develop a full understanding of client's policies, its structural standards and related business processes
• Fulfil the role of asset structural Technical Authority and provide expert advice on timely maintenance and intervention solutions
• Review and approve design integrity of work carried out by engineering contractors to ensure that the proposed solutions are technically and commercially sound
• Work as an integral member of the current offshore structural engineering team.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
With a MSc degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, ocean engineering or naval architecture, you’ll have extensive experience and knowledge of design and integrity assessment on offshore structures. This should include developing inspection and maintenance strategies for substructures in steel, concrete and decks, remaining life integrity assessment of sub-structures, design and execution planning of repairs.

Knowledge of international structural and marine design codes and standards in the oil and gas processing industry is essential, and you should also possess the ability to manage structural integrity re-analysis, including defect and anomaly assessments.

You’ll have a good working knowledge of foundation design, dynamic analysis of fixed structures and floating systems, hydrodynamics, loading in wind, waves and currents, structural dynamics and fatigue, and the design of plated structures, mooring and riser systems.
