The Role:
Job Description Planning Engineer Off shore (10+ years)

•Experience with Primavera P6 is essential. Define business needs, proposing solutions, defining work flows, providing guidance and implementing system needs to optimize and automate to the extent possible. This candidate must proactively develop relationships, identify opportunities to add value, and engage team members as needed. Use expert level skills in Primavera Project software to verify that the standardization and quality of schedules is maintained by the Planner. Ensure that the operators, maintenance, drilling and their colleagues within the Asset are fully conversant with the Integrated Planning Process and that they meet the weekly cycle time within the process for updating and re-scheduling all schedules and related resource requirements. Provide functional guidance to all operation staff for plans performance and development.
•Prepares and manages overall Master Projects Schedule integrating the project Work Breakdown Structure using an appropriate scheduling software package.
•Coordinates schedule from multiple engineers and contractors to incorporate the information gathered into the overall project master schedule.
•Facilitate weekly meeting with Operations staff for the analysis of the Master Schedule across all Departments following the individual schedule updates and Asset weekly planning meetings.
•Produce reports of schedule variance, short & long term planned production loss, produce resource Requirement versus Availability Histograms for all over-allocated resources, identify opportunities for synergies and facilitate meetings on these topics with Asset Team Leaders and Superintendents. Perform Resource Leveling of the Master Schedule, based on Business Plan Project Priorities and in line with decisions made at the meeting. Advise key personnel about these changes.
•Provides baselines, resource planning and project schedules for various types of projects.
•Monitors and forecasts progress of activities in contractors’ work schedules. Highlight problem areas and recommend remedial actions.
•Evaluates critical paths in the project schedules and evaluate alternative schedule options to identify optimum project strategies or resolve problems before and during execution.
•Performs probabilistic analysis of completion dates and potential alternatives. Presents risk based analysis of most likely completion and expected deviation range.
•Develops and implements plan versus actual progress “S” curve. Reports and analyses monthly deviations from plan. Evaluates allocation of resources and provide recommendations to maintain required progress.
•Liaises with all team leaders to communicate required completion dates and interfaces between responsible parties.
•Work closely with cost engineer and accountant for expenditure, value of work forecasting and progress. .
•Prepares and issues updated project schedules.
