The Company:
Our Client is a major Oil and Gas Operator and has operations through-out the world.

The Role:
The Oil Spill Adviser will be responsible for the coordination of the oil spill preparedness and response capability of the North Sea Region.

• Ensuring compliance with Corporate oil spill response requirements, including gap analysis for new standards, plan development and delivery, and review with subject matter experts.
• Ensuring compliance with National and Global oil spill regulatory requirements.
• Managing the Oil Spill Preparedness process for the UKCS, including the relationship with regulatory authorities, service providers, and the multidisciplinary teams involved in plan delivery.
• Managing the Duty Pollution Officer team, in terms of compliance, sharing lessons learned and the ongoing recruitment and development of the group.
• Managing the rollout of the OSCAR modelling tool accross the North Sea, including training and implementation.
• Provide professional advice and support to Incident management Team manager during responses as a Duty Pollution Officer (DPO), and provide coaching to other DPOs during exercises and mobilisations.
• Represent the company at Oil Spill Response Forums and industry meetings.
• Liaise with other oil spill experts across the international upstream business.
• Manage the relationship with Oil Spill Response Southampton.
• Co-ordinate audits of Corporate oil spill preparedness and the various response contractors.
• Maintain awareness of all industry lessons learned and best practices, and where applicable embed into the North Sea processes.
• Manage specific oil spill related projects.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• University degree in a technical or environmental discipline.
• Experience in Oil Spill Response, crisis management or operational response to incidents.
