The Company:
Our client is the worlds leading independent company in powertrain development. Based in the UK, our client has proven success in the development of powertrain systems with internal combustion engines. Our client is a highly competent partner to the engine and automotive industry.

The Role:
Working as part of a team on the development of calibration datasets to fulfil legislative requirements for OBD, covering multiple global markets. The role will involve activity in all areas of the calibration development cycle from target definition through to validation. The role will principally involve vehicle based testing and will also include some activity on facility. The engineer will be responsible for developing a full OBD dataset and delivering this for integration into the complete ECU calibration.

Your Responsibilities:
• Calibration dataset development in-line with guidelines for OBD regulations
• Dataset validation for all ambient conditions both in facility and in territory
• Planning and execution of a vehicle testing program
• Analysis of results and preparation of recommendations

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• BEng in Mechanical/Automotive or related Engineering discipline
• Masters or PhD in specific subject area preferred
• Experience within the automotive industry
• Good knowledge of Combustion engine fundamentals
• Excellent inter-personnel and communication skills
• Proven project management skills
• Good working knowledge of EMS and related tools and software
• Capable of working independently as well as part of large and small teams

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience of co-ordinating and executing tests on vehicle
• Knowledge and experience of OBD requirements for passenger car
• Understanding of worldwide OBD legislation
• Familiarity with HiL Rig and model-based development activities
