The Company:
Our client is part of one of the major oil operators in the world with it's head office in the North of Holland.

The ONEgas Asset comprises approximately 50 platforms, 90 fields and 7 gas evacuation routes in the NL and UK Southern North Sea (SNS). The asset has a high level of complexity and activity, and produces approximately 10 Bcm of gas per year (equivalent to 200kboepd).

The Role:
The Asset planner is a member of the ONEgas Planning and Integration (P&I) team. ONEgas manages the Southern North Sea UK and NL gas assets. The P&I team resides in the ONEgas Development Engineering Team and is functionally part of the UIO (Upstream International Operated) Planning Team.
The P&I team provides a service to the Asset Development Team Leader (ADL) as well as the Asset Manager (AM).

The P&I team can best be described as being on the crossroads of technical maturation / asset support and management / business planning, which will provide valuable insight and learning into the inner workings of one of Shell’s top 10 Assets globally. In practice the role is rewarding and enjoyable as it boils down to being a “spider in the web” in the Asset with a very wide exposure to a wide variety of stakeholders, including development / subsurface / drilling / operations / projects / economics.
The P&I team maintains, analyses and reports out the data that are relevant to the development and management of the ONEgas asset. The P&I team supports also external engagement, and coordinates asset reference planning and business planning activities.
The unique position of information access of the P&I team allows it as one of the few to provide data analyses and assessment of trends of the overall asset, which is cluster based and matrix organized. The ability to operate at a high level is needed to be able to identify and digest these trends and engage with ADL and AM in order to be able to challenge and support.

The asset planner is involved in opportunity identification and maturation, the administration and reporting thereof, and liaises closely with development teams
• Expected to participate in the transition to a new Business Planning Software tool, that will be implemented during 2013. Takes ownership of the use of this tool.
• Maintains the ONEfunnel (portfolio) database (MsExcel based at present), which is the primary depository of business data of the asset. Analyses data using a variety of project-tracking and other tools.
• Prepares and owns frequent overviews of development and maturation performance, both qualitative and quantitative in terms of Capital Expenditure, Operating Expenditure, Reserves, Hydrocarbon Production, Well Maturation and Resourcing.
• Participates actively in Asset Reference Planning and Business Planning processes. Optimises the asset plan, in order to maximise value delivery from the asset, and generates alternative scenarios.
• Ensures the delivery of high quality analytical work in support of the Asset in general, with a focus on development and commercial/finance. Achieves capital discipline by tracking, ensuring forewarning to enable intervention.
• Facilitates the Opportunity Realisation Process and Integrated Activity Planning. Is involved in stakeholder reporting (internally for asset management, but also to partners, shareholders, governmental authorities etc.).
• Interacts with development, finance, commercial and other ONEgas teams effectively.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Able to work with excel at advanced level and to become master in use of business planning software
• Able to extract Capex, Opex, production and other trends and explain the underlying reasons for these trends
• Champions Customer and Stakeholder Focus, demonstrates Self Mastery, displays interpersonal effectiveness, delivers results through others, communicates effectively
• IT proficient (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Oracle databases and/or other systems
• Understanding of Upstream oil and gas business, Petroleum Engineering, Business Planning Process, Field Development Planning would be a distinctive advantage
