The Role:
Fircroft are now looking to recruit an Onshore Brownfield Project Engineer to assist a major client with one of their key projects.
The role is based in the UK and at this stage will run for approximately 12 months.

Reporting into the Onshore Engineering Delivery Manager, key roles & responsibilities will include, but not be limited to;

The Onshore Brownfield Project Engineer reports to the Onshore Engineering Delivery Manager and is responsible for delivering the Project Engineering function related to the Brownfield scope only within the Project Onshore Engineering Team.

The Onshore Brownfield Project Engineer is a key member of the Project Engineering Team based in the Main Engineering Contractor’s offices. The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for the development and delivery of the EXECUTE stages of the Project for the Onshore Brownfield scope.

The Onshore Brownfield Project Engineer will interface and communicate closely with Project Operations, HSSE and the Construction teams to ensure a consistent approach is taken and will translate design intent with respect to technical integrity, operability and HSSE.

Key aspects of the role include:

Contractor Management:
• Monitor day-to-day Contractor activities associated with the key Brownfield responsibilities identified in this Roles and Responsibilities document. Identify issues and agree the way forward to implement corrective action as appropriate.

Interface Management:
• Manage the engineering interface between Engineering contractor and Operations;
• Ensure effective and regular communication is established between relative parties (via Bi-weekly Brownfield Interface conference calls);
• Addressing Brownfield Interface requests / information requests from third parties - expediting responses from Engineering and Management team.

Brownfield Construction Interface:

• Act as focal point for Brownfield Construction related issues / MTC SEQ etc;
• Coordination with Brownfield Construction Lead to ensure engineering delivery schedule is aligned with Brownfield construction schedule;
• Attendance at weekly Brownfield Construction interface meetings as Brownfield Engineering rep. Close interfacing with Onshore Engineering Team Lead on any engineering related changes / issues that may arise from these interface meetings;
• Addressing ad-hoc Brownfield Construction concerns with Brownfield Construction lead;
• Support design office activities to ensure brownfield constructability issues are proactively addressed and incorporated into the design and execution strategy.

Operations Brownfield e-MOC coordination:

• Manage the Brownfield Management of Change system in accordance with the Operations e-MOC plans and procedures;
• Enforcing the Operations e-MOC procedure to the Project Engineering teams for all brownfield scope;
• Coordination with Onshore Senior Project Engineer to facilitate Brownfield PACNs / OAPs PGM discussions and agreement;
• Overview and Supervision of e-MOC coordinator
Duties include:
o Ensuring that suitable content is provided in each e-MOC;
o Weekly Expediting to all those with outstanding e-MOC
o Bi-weekly update with Engineering Team lead / Senior Project Engineer to update progress / issues seek guidance (timing to suit PGM meeting).

Brownfield Procurement:

• Awareness of the status of Brownfield Procurement activities.
• Assistance to Onshore Senior Project Engineer to expedite Brownfield Package procurement and delivery.

General responsibilities, in addition to the above, during the EXECUTE Stages include:

• Accountability to ensure that a common understanding of Brownfield scope is shared by all departments (and Contractors) and clear lines of responsibility for delivery are established;
• Support the preparation and implementation of effective project execution plans and procedures;
• Assist in monitoring and driving project performance and progress;
• Monitor and supervise day-to-day contractor activities associated with brownfield scope and identify and implement corrective actions as appropriate;
• Assist in the performance of project assurance activities;
• Prepare presentation slide packs and other presentation materials as required;
• Take a leadership role HSSE performance and ensuring highest standards in all behavioural and HSSE compliance matters;
• Working closely with the Onshore Engineering Delivery Manager to successfully deliver onshore scope through Execute;
• Manage the interfaces between Operations & Construction Team to ensure alignment;
• Provide input to the preparation of the annual Onshore Engineering Work Plan & Budget;
• Co-ordination / liaison with the Onshore Engineering Team Lead on all brownfield related activities (Procurement / Construction / e-MOC).
