The Company:
Our Client is a global Energy Leader with a strong commitment to Honest and Ethical Business Practices within the Oil and Gas Industry. Our Client operates as an independent energy company. It has four segments: Oil and Gas, Syncrude, Energy Marketing, and Chemicals. The Oil and Gas segment explores, develops, and produces crude oil, natural gas, and related products.

The Role:
•Safety – Role models compliance with HSE policy . Ensures that all activities are planned and conducted in compliance with HSE policy

•Leadership - Manages the team to produce results through effective supervision, coaching and allocation of work. Communicates effectively and consistently role models Client’s values. Readily accepts accountability and insists on it from others

•Financial - Manages the team in order to deliver budgeted outputs and costs. Effectively manages resources within their control, minimises waste, and risk, and raises potential budgetary issues as soon as they are identified

•Technical/Functional –
Assist Technical Safety with Safety Case Updates, Materials Changes and Thorough Reviews.
Liaise with the Regulators (HSE-OSD and DECC) as appropriate in support of Inspection & Investigation
Act as focal point for HSE advice and information dissemination.
Provide support/guidance to the Asset Offshore HSE Advisor / Drilling & Completions Safety Coach.
Attend asset/ rig daily calls, weekly/monthly HSE meetings, campaign meetings, wash-up meetings, pre-spud meetings, etc; in particular adhere to MCRS process.
Provide operational HSE support to the wider HSE team within the Company.
Engage with offshore/ onshore personnel and key contractors on improving HSE performance; coordinate and update the asset/ department annual HSE Improvement Plan.
Provide support and participate where required in the development and roll-out of HSE campaigns: Risk Assessment/ Hazid/ Envid sessions; Accident/ Incident Investigation and follow-up on Actions.
Conduct inspections and UK Management System compliance audits of offshore installations, vessels and onshore locations, and compile reports as appropriate.
Management System Development, Interface Arrangements and Emergency Response participation.

•Collaboration - Collaborates effectively with other teams, and actively encourages individuals to build networks, share knowledge and participate in joint problem solving activities

•Continuous Improvement & Innovation - Manages work in line with project disciplines and takes every opportunity to consider alternative solutions in the light of lessons learned. Enforces the effective use of knowledge databases

•Capability Development - Coaches team members to develop personal capabilities and enhance the technical capability of the team. Supports the personal development of individuals and demonstrates a personal commitment to lifelong learning

•People Processes - Delivers people processes in a commercial and positive way that demonstrates a commitment to the spirit of such processes. Encourages individuals to engage fully with related activities and delivers outputs in a timely fashion

•Performs other duties, completes additional tasks and supports ad hoc projects as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree in Safety/Engineering related subject or equivalent (desirable) OR relevant industry experience.
IOSH/NEBOSH qualified (preferably Registered or Chartered Safety Practitioner).
IEMA environment Certificate or equivalent.
