The Role:
The position will control the overall process for the Onshore Sulphur Plant in close cooperation with a Control Room Operator and the other (senior) Control Room Operators of the various Process areas for the Onshore Processing Facility.

To monitor and control the unit operating parameters through various control room systems and instrumentation to enable production & maintenance targets to be achieved safely, efficiently and effectively.

The job holder is responsible for:
Work initially with ICAT (Integrated Commissioning and Acceptance Team) during commissioning/start up phase of Onshore Production Facility (OPF) in differing roles such as field work, verifying graphics etc
Develop and/or verify quality of operating procedures for various production/utility units
Monitoring process conditions from DCS and taking appropriate action to maintain operating conditions within safe and acceptable limits.
Ability to operate control system loops in various states according to operational needs (Cascade, Auto, and Manual). Understanding of Complex loops and the ability to break the loop and run in manual control when required
Understanding of unit PLC and extraneous control systems used by equipment. This includes compressor anti surge (CCC), Burner Management Systems (BMS), Vibration Monitoring (Bentley Nevada) etc
Ensure product streams are kept within limits set by engineering and acting accordingly when results fall outside limits
Ensuring proper board rounds and routines are done, recording and reporting any abnormalities
Taking immediate action in case of alarm by following operating manuals/procedures and/or verbal instructions. Identify and report possible anomalies and cooperate in defining corrective actions
Taking direction from the Unit Supervisor/Shift Supervisor during the day to day operation of the plant.
Ability to provide clear and comprehensive direction to CRO Operator, Senior Operator, Unit Operators and CRO Trainees
Compiling and completing relevant daily reports as required. Maintain loop trip bypass logbook, Shift Logbook, Maintenance Logbook etc. Providing comprehensive hand over or turnovers to the incoming cross shift personnel.
Work with ICT (Instrumentation & Controls Team) when doing any routine duties, field transmitter checks and calibrations, ESD function checks etc.
Mentoring of new hires and cross training personnel during training activities to help develop knowledge and understanding of the operation of the DCS instrumentation system.
Assist the Competence Development Group in the training and assessment of CRO and Unit Operators.
Work with team members to recover from plant upset or outage.

HSE Responsibilities:
Demonstrate a commitment to HSE through the personal application of safety critical behaviours:
Compliance with Republic of Kazakhstan Statutory HSE Regulations, Codes and Standards;
Applying client's HSE & SD Policies & Management System;
Supporting/ Participating in Emergency Drills and Exercises as required;
Reporting all Accidents/ Incidents and Unsafe Acts/ Conditions in a timely manner

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The job holder must have :
Appropriate education from a certified Technical School, College or University, HNC minimum
Experience 7+ years process experience with at least 5 of those years working in a similar role.
Experience should include the following:
Knowledge/experience of production operations in DCS, Fire & Gas Detection and Auto ESD/Blowdown systems
Knowledge of and application of processes and Ops procedures
Knowledge and experience in the operation and maintenance of plant machinery and associated systems
Experience in PTW and associated activities
Previous Supervisory experience in a Sour Service facility

The job holder must have proven:

Proven problem solving skills with the ability to apply these skills in emergency situations
HSE Skills, especially in supervising complex site activities
Computer literate
Ability to work in a team environment, communicate, understand and work within the dynamics of a multi functional, multi cultural environment.
