The Role:
The Operational Excellence Department is responsible for leading the implementation of operational excellence (OE) across all Saudi Aramco organizations as part of a comprehensive corporate transformation program. The OE Department applies a management system approach for enhancing organizational capabilities and delivering world-class performance in all priority areas for the company. The OE Department is charged with the development and delivery of OE training, hands-on coaching, and field support to implementing organizations. It is also responsible for developing and certifying professional assessors and for leading comprehensive OE assessments for all Saudi Aramco organizations. OE implementation includes a host of other activities necessary to affect and manage change as well as cultivating a culture of continuously seeking business excellence and growth opportunities.

The primary role of the OE professional is to lead implementation of the OE system at Saudi Aramco and, ultimately, support organizations in achieving and sustaining industry leading performance in efficiency and reliability while striving to achieve the highest health, safety and environment (HSE) standards in a cost-effective and profitable manner.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Industrial Engineering. A master’s degree or MBA is preferred. 10+ years of work experience.

Certification in internationally recognized excellence models, such as Malcolm Baldridge, EFQM, TQM, etc.

Expertise in driving organizational performance in areas such as HSE, reliability, efficiency, cost optimization and process management.

Experience in implementing and deploying international excellence models as a professional practitioner.

Knowledge and experience in managing change using sound change management principles and practices.

Fluent in spoken and written English and able to produce high quality technical reports, communication letters and other publications.

•Lead implementation of the in-house excellence management system across Saudi Aramco organizations.

•Lead operational excellence assessments conducted for all company organizations by a diverse team of certified assessors.

•Develop training material for the in-house excellence model and conduct classroom training for company employees and management.

•Support others in their assessments of organizational performance, gap identification and closure, and continuous improvement efforts.

•Evaluate deviations from in-house excellence requirements and support corrective measures.

•Plan for and schedule resource, logistics, and other requirements for implementation, training, assessments, and other activities in relation to in-house excellence model.

•Champion initiatives for cultivating excellence culture and influencing mindsets and behaviors to support organizational breakthrough performance.

•Lead comprehensive organizational assessments based on the in-house excellence model and using internationally known and respected standards, such as the European Foundation for Quality Management or Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award, to identify improvement opportunities and propose remedial actions.

•Develop rigorous and meaningful strategies that instill excellence principles in employees and help organizations meet their excellence targets.

•Develop and conduct excellence related awareness campaigns and education or discussion events.

•Work with and support line organization teams in driving excellence programs within their own organizations, mentoring their employees in the implementation of the in-house excellence model, providing advice and consultation on areas for improvement, and carrying out interventions to steer momentum and drive toward performance excellence.

•Lead and/or coordinate projects in relation to excellence within organizations that address challenging performance areas or persisting gaps.

•Apply sound techniques and concepts, such as the Total Quality Management principles, to scrutinize organizational performance and provide the areas of strength and weakness for the organization on different dimensions of excellence.

•Lead and manage periodic enhancement of in-house excellence model and benchmark excellence model internally and externally.

•Work with experts from many Saudi Aramco organizations in identifying, evaluating and streamlining potential overlaps and interfaces between in-house excellence models and other in-house management systems.

•Develop quality publications, reading material and educational documents for disseminating knowledge and experience in relation to excellence.

•Write world-class reports and recommendation letters that line organizations can use to improve their excellence performance and capabilities.

•Demonstrate in-depth understanding and knowledge of international and industry excellence models and approaches in addition to the in-house excellence model.

•Support other department staff in completing their assigned tasks and work commitments.
