The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of a brand new programme that will develop and embed new ways of operating, by driving change and continually improving the way the client works.
As an expert in managing lean deployments and process improvement, this role leads waves of the Operational Excellence programme with and for the local operation in 12-14 week cycles across the client Customer Operations' sites. They will coordinate the work and benefits realisation, have Operational Excellence Navigator resources to manage and work directly with the Customer Operations Leadership Team (COLT) member/sponsor and programme Control Committee. This is a 'hands on' role which involves planning and leading change whilst at the same time managing a team of Navigators and Senior Navigators.
Key activities
• Plan and lead transformation projects in wave deployments of Operational Excellence.
• Manage a team of Operational Excellence Navigators and Senior Navigators to deliver stretching efficiency and customer benefits.
• Measure performance and progress of the wave and it’s part in the wider programme.
• Provide deep operational excellence expertise (Continual Improvement, Lean, Six Sigma tools, etc).
• Coach, train and facilitate line management and change agents.
• Strong stakeholder support at all levels and especially with local leadership and representative.
• COLT member - being highly credible with all levels.
• Ambassador and champion of the Operational Excellence Programme.
Key skill requirements
Essential
• Strong stakeholder management abilities and influencing skills with the ability to flex style to suit the audience.
• Have experience of working with and applying Lean, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
• A solid knowledge of project and change management.
• A sound understanding of statistics and performance, including the ability to read management information and form and test hypotheses.
• First-class problem solving skills.
• The ability to work from any of our locations across the UK, for extended periods and with regular and repeated stopovers.
Here’s what you’ll be doing as an Operational Excellence Stream Lead
Along with being the face of our Operational Excellence Programme, you’ll plan and lead the range of transformation projects involved and manage the team that will make it all happen. You’ll keep a close eye on performance of each phase and make sure it’s playing its part in our overall programme strategy. You’ll also offer your process improvement expertise when needed as well as coach and train first-line managers from across our business.
