The Role:
The role

As an Operational Procurement Manager you will be instrumental in providing end to end Supply Chain service by managing all the Operational Procurement activities whilst ensuring the Strategic Procurement policies are adhered to.

As an integral part of the team you will work as part of the Gas Operational Management Team and the Manchester Supply Chain Team to manage, develop and strive to continually improve all Supply Chain infrastructure resources, for provision of products and services to customers.

As an Operational Procurement Manager you will:

• Structure, develop and manage the Operational Procurement Team to deliver and support an ‘end to end’ Supply Chain
• Collaborate with the Head of Operations and SC management to ensure a collaborative approach to business issues as and when they arise
• Work alongside the Head of Operations to ensure all Strategic and Operational activities are delivered on time and to target
• Work with the Head of Operations to ensure Procurement activities are inline with Group SCM and Procurement strategy and policies
• Support the Operational Management Team and manage the indirect expenditure allocated to the Operational Procurement cost centres.
• Work with the BL Gas Operations to continually improve the business performance of the organisation.
• Support the Head of Operations in executing the course of Business Excellence, quality and process improvements within the Supply Chain Management area and enable the company to define best class standards for optimal excellence.
• Ensure the successful deployment of Supply Chain measures to monitor and ensure a Competitive, Secure and Legal Supply Chain.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
As an Operational Procurement Manager you will have:

• Degree / MBA level or equivalent
• Extensive experience in a Supply Chain Management role, with previous experience of working within a high volume, low cost, manufacturing environment
• The ability to work as an individual or part of a team.
• Mechanical / Electronic Engineering knowledge / qualifications would be a significant advantage
• CIPS accreditation would be an advantage
