The Company:
A Large Independent Operating company with a large international portfolio is looking for an Operations Engineer to provide technical support for the West African overseas operations.

The Role:
The Operations Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day operations support in troubleshooting problems, identify opportunities to optimise production, and detailed planning and preparation of activities for Operations in West Africa. The role will require the individual to frequently visit West Africa to deliver and supervise workscopes during peak activity.

As an Operations Engineer your main duties will involve:

• Leading the delivery of the annual HSE plans both for operated facilities and leased FPSO operations, participating in HAZOPS and HAZIDS as and when required.
• Ensuring engineering & operational standards/procedures meet regulatory and safety standards within ALARP principles.
• Liaise with the FPSO representatives and in-country Operations Superintendents to provide day to day support and direction for the offshore production operations, understanding and resolving technical matters.
• Undertake operational investigations into operational defects and vulnerabilities and provide solutions.
• Trouble shooting of process systems to maximise production and minimise cost.
• Liaise with, and co-ordinate, specialist vendor support for offshore operations.
• Managing all 3rd party studies as required in support of operations.
• Supporting the start-up and integration of new projects to existing operations.
• Lead and manage Management of Change and Operating Procedure and Philosophy development and update.
• Anticipate and monitor future Operations requirements on existing assets, prepare operational engineering cost forecast to support budgets and long range planning.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A Degree in Engineering or related subject.
• Thorough Knowledge and understanding of offshore production and utility systems.
• Demonstrable offshore experience of fixed and or floating production facilities.
• Understanding and application of Safety Management Systems and Engineering Practices.
• Provide operational direction to in-county staff and react rapidly to unplanned situations to provide solutions.
• Understand commercial and financial issues to deliver all works within budget and schedule.
