The Company:
Our major Oil & Gas Client is in need of an Operations Facilities Mechanical Engineer in Houston, Texas.

The Role:
The Facilities Engineer will support a range of operations activities and be primary interface with Operations Functions and major projects within the Group Projects Organization. The incumbent will directly support Operations in day-to-day reliability, efficiency, and optimization efforts particularly in the area of Mechanical. The Facilities Engineer will report to the Area Engineering Support Team Leader (AESTL).

The Facility Engineer is responsible for managing the Area’s overall risk profile. In particular, this role will be responsible for ensuring the health and performance of engineering related hazard barriers on the facility, vetting all proposed modifications to the facility, and frequently re-assessing the facilities risks..

Provide day to day Engineering and technical support to Operations Function as Technical Reviewer and resource for various parts of Process Safety Management (PSM) and client Integrity Management systems Work technical Management of Change (MOC) issues. Participate in Process Hazards Analysis, Facilities Hazard Identification, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews, etc. Provide engineering support to assure compliance with Regulatory requirements Conduct debottlenecking and optimization studies in support of Operations Contribute to the preparation and execution of planned plant shutdowns Lead small engineering projects from conceptual design to installation and operation Provide technical liaison with Project Engineering and contractor teams/organizations Provide assistance to other engineers on such matters as 'peer' technical review, assistance in progressing MOC work, mentoring and knowledge transfer

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Essential Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Essential experience and job requirements.
10+ years experience in the Process Industry (either Upstream,
Downstream, petrochemicals, gas plants)
Ability to troubleshoot routine mechanical systems and components
Understanding of applicable industry code.
A good understanding of major unit operations associated with
Facilities engineering
Experienced in Process Safety Management with emphasis on HAZOP, Mechanical Integrity, and Management of Change
Other essential skills and knowledge
Strong interpersonal, communication and diversity skills
Strong Health, Safety and Environmental focus and commitment
Ability to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision
Self motivated and able to work both independently and as a good team player
A background in brown-field engineering and issues.
Desirable criteria and qualifications
Engineering experience in the oil and gas business
