The Role:
Our leading client are seeking a Geologist based in Algeria on a 28/28 rotation on a 12month rolling contract with a start as soon as possible.

Essential Job Functions:

• Manage group of wellsite geologists and mudloggers for 2 to 3 rig drilling programs. Ensure appropriate level of geological support at wellsite. Provide sufficient data to wellsite geologists and mudloggers to efficiently monitor well progress.

• Manage and insure that all wellsite data, i.e. mudlogs, open-hole logs, cores, MDT's, VSP's are run when needed and that all field data is promptly delivered to subsurface group and partners.

• Manage and insure that all final well data is delivered to subsurface group and partners.

• Manage all casing point and TD decisions.

• Lead the technical input in external contracting process and bid evaluations (logging, coring, and personnel).

• Review and approve all well implantation reports. Facilitate special geological studies where required.

• Organize and facilitate all core storage and core evaluation processes.

• Ensure that all work is done efficiently, safely, and in accordance with the clients and Partners' established company practices and procedures, applicable laws and government rules and regulations (Algerian Oil & Gas Regulations).

• Work effectively with a multidisciplinary team composed of Geologists, Geophysicists, Production & Reservoir Engineers.

• Take on project work in support of the development geologists & mentor staff.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
MSc and Bachelors degree in geology/petroleum geology

• 10-15 years relevant petroleum industry experience, preferably with a major operator.
• Good working knowledge of Geologix GEO Suite, Microsoft Office, and standard Windows PC programs required. Proficiency with Petrel would be a plus.
• Proficiency in French preferred; knowledge of Arabic helpful
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse, multidisciplinary team setting in a remote environment rotating on a 28/28 day basis required.
• Strong communication skills required.
