The Role:
This is a new role and will provide a great opportunity for the successful candidate to both build and shape the relationship Finance has with the wider Development and Operations Team.

Initially, this role will focus on the design and implementation of the structures, processes and procedures required to support our Cygnus operated asset, which will come on stream in Q4 2015

The candidate will be expected to drive and own business processes, raise cost awareness amongst Budget holders and actively contribute to generating value driven opportunities and identifying key risk areas.

The successful candidate will have a strong cost background, with proven competency and possess proven skills in organisation and communications, with significant experience in a similar role or strong demonstrable Joint Venture Accounting experience with an Oil and Gas Operator.

Reporting to the Development and Operations Accountant, this role will provide cost control and financial support to Development and Operated Assets Team covering: budget preparation and re-forecasting; costing, calculation of VOWD, reporting and invoice review

-Contribute to the establishment, implementation and management of effective systems of financial control
-Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures, Partner JOA and statutory requirements.
-ISC – Supervise the Integrated Services Company financial Department ensuring strong participation in Service Level Agreements, KPI implementation, sub-contractor due diligence etc
-Support in preparation of VOWD for Ops Readiness, Cygnus Pre Ops, Juliet Opex and other pre development and producing assets, where applicable.
-Support the preparation of Budgets, AFE’s and Forecasts, in conjunction with the Operations Management team for all Operator Readiness, Pre Ops and Operations activities.
-Actively contribute and participate in various forums and initiatives (Risk Management Spares Forum, Commercial meetings with ISC, Community of Practice etc.)
-Support in the development of the Cygnus Opex coding, Cost reporting format and design and compilation of a budget book and Budget holders guide.
-Compile and analyse financial information to support the preparation of monthly and annual accounts, including the preparation of full variance analysis.
-Regularly meet with budget holders to review, discuss and analyse costs.
-Ensure that invoices are correctly allocated and that invalid or incorrect charges are rejected.
-Manage accurate and timely month and year end close processes, for all operated assets in accordance with the corporate reporting timetable.
-Support the development of accounting policies and procedures for all aspects of Operations.
-Assisting with internal and external Joint Venture audits
-Provide Finance input into the development of related systems e.g. Inventory and Logistics Management System
-Contribution to functional projects and initiatives
-Involvement in financial and commercial assessment of new vendors
-Support Finance involvement in Asset Team meetings, OCM’s & TCM’s.
-Time writing coaching as required
-Work with Planner to ensure finance contribution to Ops Readiness plan is accurate and updated on a monthly basis
-Update Risk model with new risks and provide and track strong mitigating factors
-Maximo – assist in ensuring Maximo is implemented with the correct coding structure, is fully Sap compliant & be fully involved in system testing to ensure no surprises

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
-Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
-Minimum 5 years E&P experience with a North Sea Oil and Gas Operator, preferably with some technical/Operations knowledge
-SAP Experience
-High level of competency in Excel & PowerPoint
-A strong team player with excellent communication skills with a proven ability to build strong business relationships
-Planning and organisation skills
-Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
-Initiative in problem solving and process improvement
-Ability to challenge existing views and work practices
-Ability to meet deadlines, with a proven track record of delivering results
