The Company:
A British company, operating onshore gas/oil fields in Ukraine, has a requirement for an Operations Manager. The position will be field based on a notional 30/30 day rotation with on- site accommodation provided.

The Role:
Working with existing local staff, duties will include direct planning and supervision of the work over and enhancement activities, together with a key role in the FDP. While this is a hands-on management position, it will require multiple skills, experience, patience and the ability to understand and address a wide range of issues.

This is not a position that would be suitable for an individual who enjoys a structured and rigid working environment; leadership, technical ability, flexibility, innovation and motivation are key attributes for this position. It is also important that the candidate can demonstrate previous experience in a similar position.

Key Responsibilities:

a) Reports directly to the Country Manager
b) Budgetary planning and control for operational activities.
c) Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental procedures.
d) Compliance with local regulations and ensure that good and prudent oilfield practice is also followed.
e) Planning, supervision and reporting for all operations.
f) Safe and efficient of all operations.


The Candidate should meet the following requirements: -

a) A recognised technical qualification.

b) Able to demonstrate significant experience in a previous position with planning and management of work overs and completions, coil tubing, wire/slick line and logging operations.

c) Significant experience with planning and managing hydraulic fracturing and stimulation operations.

d) Excellent leadership and administrative skills. Should be able to demonstrate mentoring of local staff in a previous position.

e) The ability to actively manage and motivate employees and contractors to ensure operations are completed efficiently and safely.

f) The ability to innovate and the flexibility to adapt with changing situations.

g) Previous International experience in a similar position in a remote area; additionally, working with different nationalities would be beneficial.

h) While nationality of the candidate is not a primary consideration, fluent written/spoken English is mandatory and a knowledge of Russian would be useful.
