The Role:
Duties:

Organisation:
•Develops operations staffing plan in accordance with GPO Defined Practice, obtaining regional operations approval and endorsement from VP Ops GPO. Performance manages implementation of the plan.
•Builds operations team through delivery of recruitment, training and competency assessment plans.
•Manages organisational interfaces with Region, especially for transition of team at start-up.

Engineering and Project Development:
•Defines, develops and ensure application of operations and maintenance strategy.
•Leads operational input to project assurance reviews
•Ensures appropriate participation of operations personnel in Hazop, FATs, and commissioning activities
•Prepares and uses reliability and availability model to influence design trade-off decisions
•Manages maintenance and integrity builds and the development of operating procedures
•Ensures lessons learnt from other projects are incorporated where appropriate in the design of this project.

Operational Readiness:
•Develops Operational Readiness plan which is fully resourced and integrated with project plan, which defines all activities required to prepare project for start-up and early operation. Manages delivery of project operations activities on the plan and tracks progress of plan as a whole.
•Operations signatory for acceptance of the completed plant at handover, and signatory to Go / No-Go process.
•Ensures necessary support contracts are in place prior to start-up and that necessary spares are ordered and delivered to site.
•Ensures required engineering documentation is available to Operations and their support engineers.

Start-up:
•Responsible for safe start-up of the plant from point of introduction of hydrocarbon. Manages development of start-up procedures. Leads start-up team.

Opex:
•Develops and owns estimates of Opex at various stages through project, including support to FMs.
•Prepares initial operating budgets.
•Develops pre-operations budget for inclusion in project Capex.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Engineering degree from internationally recognised university

Experienced in aspects of Process Safety Management including Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s), Safety Integrity levels (SIL), Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Hazards analysis (HAZOP), and Management of Change (MoC).
