The Role:
The Operations Manager is accountable for the safe and efficient conduct of all operations related to exploitation of offshore hydrocarbons, in compliance with existing regulations and legal framework. He/She is the Operations focal point for our client and is their custodian of wells and related petroleum network and processing infrastructure. He/She is accountable for managing technical integrity and implementation of industry best practices in production operations and facilities maintenance.

Main Responsibilities:

Through effective non-operator oversight upon Client operator you will ensure safe and efficient operations and minimal environmental impact
Ensures overall compliance with legal regulations, HSEQ policies and corporate guidelines & standards; this includes items related to Permitting and Authorisaitons for Black Sea Operations.
Manages day-to-day operations-related business of the Black Sea Development BU
Accounts for technical integrity of wells and facilities in accordance with generally accepted petroleum industry principles
Implements industry best practices and related operational guidelines
Ensures that the Black Sea Development BU operates at or under budgeted operations cost
Works with our clients partners as an extended team member

1. Planning and forecasting duties:

Evaluates production forecasts from the Operator and co-ordinates independent evaluations of future production
Provides input for Mid Term Planning
Proposes Asset related improvement options for surface and subsurface
Provides input for Asset Reference Plan, Life of Field plan and the P.A.E.P. in compliance with our client's HSEQ standards and guidelines
Identifies investment opportunities for projects and business development and provides input for draft gross investment plan
Plans Opex budget
Estimates production system capacity
Plans, checks and approves annual purchase demands for materials and services

Well Operations

Ensures compliance with HSEQ, corporate guidelines and legal framework in day to day operations
Liaises with Drilling on all drilling planning matters, in particular the 2013-2014 Appraisal and Exploration Drilling program in Deep Water.
Monitors all necessary Site Survey work prior to drilling
Co-ordinates evaluation of drilling hazards based on seismic interpretation and interpretation of hi-resolution seismic by the Operator
Ensures QC/QA evaluation of all well designs prepared by Operator, or by our client
Liaises with our clients drilling operations regarding participation in the Well Delivery Process
Works with our client and Operator in preparation for production testing operations
Supports Operator in preparation of drilling activities (supply base, import of materials, etc.)
Maintenance of wells / facilities
Accounts for future identification, prioritisation, execution and monitoring of maintenance and improvement opportunities (surface and subsurface)

2. Industry knowledge:

Knowledge of standards and petroleum industry’s Best Practices in production/ technology/ engineering, legal requirements, etc.
Knowledge of planning and economics incl. financial management (Opex, Capex, investment decision making)
Extended experience in Field Management (production operations, production technologies, engineering and maintenance, lifting of oil & gas, drilling, facility/ asset management, managerial interrelationships, interaction with authorities, etc.)
Extended experience in "value optimised" Asset/ Field Management ("life cycle oriented productivity/ cost management", optimisation of running costs and of return on investment)
Familiar with Identify-Assess-Select-Define-Execute-Operate Tollgate process

3. Organization:

Manages day-to-day business of Appraisal & Pre-Development Operations in all aspects
Regularly reviews commitments and updates forecast cost/expenditure

4. Coordination duties:

Ensures good working relationship with the Operator
Calls out, monitors and controls the use of contracted services
Approves operations related invoices from the Operator (ExxonMobil)
Ensures compliance with code of conduct and liaises with local communities in CSR related issues
Supports tendering and contracting for contractors and equipment incl. equipment modernisation and improvements
Is member of JMCs

5. Reporting duties:

Reports ongoing BU Operations related activities, status and performance to the Director of Black Sea Development
Contributes to regular monthly reporting to senior management within the organisation.

6. People Development:

Ensures availability of competent resources for Operations
Supervises human resource management incl. Operations staff capability development

7. HSE Duties:

Ascertain and respect the legislation’s provisions in the field of health and security at work, protection against fire and civil protection as long as their implementation measures;
Use the equipment of the current and protection activity according to the technical instructions;
Not affect the good functioning, not alter, change or arbitrary remove the security devices in the building where he/she is working;
Communicate immediately to the employer and/or assigned employees any situation on which he/she have serious reasons to consider as a danger for the security and health of the employees, as well as any malfunctioning of the protection system;
Inform the line manager and/or the employer about the accidents suffered;
Cooperate with the employer and/or assigned employees in order to make possible the implementation of any measures or requirements of the law or related authorities;
Cooperate with the employer and/or the related authorities in order to allow a work environment and work conditions without risks for security and health;
Act, according to the procedures established at the work place, in case of occurrence of any imminent fire danger or other emergency situation;
Provide to assigned persons all known data and information concerning occurred work accidents and/or fires.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
University degree in chemical or petroleum engineering or similar studies
Over 12 years of experience in petroleum/ oil & gas industry
Strong personal commitment for HSEQ
Holistic understanding of strategy from Corporate to field management
Understanding of the Hydrocarbon life cycle form Exploration to Development to Production
Team leader skills, experience in managing of technical groups
Communication and negotiation skills as well as managerial experience
Proven track record (motivation, responsibility, people management, etc.)
Potential for personal development
Very good command of English language (spoken and written)
Computer literacy
