Our client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions the transmission and distribution industry

The Role:
My client is looking to recruit an experienced Operations Manager to strategic lead a number of key areas within their business including logistics, customer service, technical support and quality management functions.The Operations manager will set the strategic direction of the operations function and lead this Operations Team; driving towards continuously improving customer satisfaction and delivery performance, while achieving business targets (revenue, EBIT, Net Working Capital and Cash). This role forms a part of the management team and works closely with the National Sales manager and business controller to meet the business’ growth objectives.

Key duties will include:

• Direct Line management responsibility for all department heads and actively manage all operations and projects
• Managing the implementation of internal Quality Strategies
• Apply a creative approach & take ownership for the identification of continuous improvement initiatives to align the Operations function with Sales Management and the market
• Develop, communicate & execute an Operations Strategy based on customer feedback and division directives.
• Managing performance of operations including: Invoicing; Customer returns; Added value assemblies; Technical service; Stock Accuracy; Electronic Transactions; Order entry queries; Delivery performance; Training; KPI’s; customer Satisfaction; Quotations; Quality Management System, LV Connect & cBOL.
• Implement, run & where appropriate sponsor operational reviews.
• Implement best in class tools and processes to support sales and end customers requirements
• Ensure management reviews and training are in place to drive the team towards excellence.
• Work within internal integrity, SOX and QHSE rules.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Ideally educated to degree level in relevant discipline
• Experience of multi site, matrix, global organisation
• People skills, creativity, rational analysis, project management, and knowledge of technology.
• Previous experience leading a team involving fast running transactions and automated environment
• Customer focused
• Open communicator
• Personal responsibilty to ensure targets are met

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
