The Company:
Our client is a Multinational Chemical company responsible for the Construction, Ownership and Operation of it's own Plants.

The Role:
Job Purpose:
The Production Engineering role acts as a technical resource for Operations personnel, applying technical skills to optimize plant operations, resolves plant problems and enable production of low cost, quality products.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
• Understands all applicable process technology, equipment and control technology. Works with Technical Advising and plant personnel it to optimize operations, meet Business and plant goals. (Production, cost, quality).
• Participates in advanced trouble shooting and coaches others to learn these skills.
• Implements best practices in operations in order to optimize operations.
• Performs appropriate Manage Production roles as determined by Plant / Business. Example: Operate Plant, Operating Discipline, Produce to Plan / Record Production, etc.
• Understands and applies skills and knowledge in Statistical Process Control (SPC) technology, to maximize plant asset utilization and produce low cost, quality products.
• Initiates changes to Plant Operating procedures to ensure they are valid and up to date. Works with Production personnel in this respect.
• Networks with other engineers on site to leverage knowledge on plant operations Example: Production, Improvement, etc.
• As required communicate technical information and issues to plant personnel, Technology or Expertise centres’.
• As required participates on and leads teams in his area of accountability

Job Context:
This role is to provide a technical resource to assist work teams on daily operations and process performance so as to run a low cost, on specification, reliable, optimized operation, thereby maximizing value to the business.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Education and Certification Requirements:
• Engineering Degree
• 5 Years’ experience
• Knowledge, skills and experience required for the job
• Other roles either in Production, Maintenance or Engineering.
• Leadership
• Initiative
• Team work
• Interpersonal effectiveness
• Technical knowledge
• Technology training certified
