The Company:
One of the bigger international oil companies. In the Dutch sector of the North Sea, they produce crude oil and natural gas. This company operates and has interests in 10 offshore blocks.
The client operates producing offshore platforms on the Dutch continental shelf of which 4 produce oil and 3 produce gas. They also continue to invest in developing its position in the Netherlands through new projects and opportunities to expand its portfolio of oil and gas producing assets.

The Role:
Key job responsibilities:
• Write Operations philosophy for new projects with assistance from the project team and from the Operations team.
• Provide operational input in design change.
• Participate in the project MOC project’s process as Operations Representative.
• Implement and participate in the input and approval process.
• Provide operations input for identification and evaluation of applicable engineering change orders.
• Provide pre-Operations input for analysis and studies.
• Manage OA reviews and in time delivery of operating manuals.
• Coordinate Ops reviews in phases where required, review, validate and communicate Operations shutdown planning, liaising between the project plan and the Ops plan
• Set up regular engagement meeting between Operations and Projects departments and document and follow up decisions made in these meetings.
• Provide Operational input in the project lessons learned and best practices and update register.
• Engage with the Operations Senior team and discuss the appropriate Operations resources to provide operational input to actions & decision register, including participation in regular Senior Ops Team meetings.
• Develop & fulfill the role of OA Professional in presentations to Operations team (engagement meetings) participate in PEER reviews in other BU’s and participate industry meetings.
• Monitor and report to project manager en Operations manager operational activities which could have effect on project planning and execution.
• Demonstrate leadership to reach alignment and agreement between project and operations.
• Review and develop plans for adequacy of resources planning to implement and sustain Operations assurance tasks and provide feedback to operations management.
• Set targets to achieve world class Operational Excellence.
• Provide Ops Assurance input into the Milestones and Delivery Map (MDM) for all Major Capital Projects to guarantee a smooth transition from design, fabrication, startup and handover to operations.
• Work with MCP and Operations team to Fully implement, improve, and sustain the OA management system to meet operations requirements during CPDEP Phase 2,3and 4.
• Ensure that OA performance accountability is clearly assigned throughout the MCP and operations organization at all levels and that OA is supported by management actions.
• Provide ongoing coaching assistance to the organization OA behaviors and actions.
• Coordination of OA activities to meet the requirements for formal OA reviews aligned to the key project milestones and decision points.
• Conduct operations verification review at end of phase 3.
• Conduct interim and final phase 4 readiness review.
• Set Operations KPI targets that will support the CEPN operations to be a better than world benchmark operation of current and future projects.
• Directly contribute and assist other Ops. Reps outside CEPN via the Project Operations Professionals Network (POPN) and within Chevron Ops Rep organization

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum 10 years experience in the Oil & Gas Upstream Industry
• Education: Facility Engineering or similar
• Broad technical knowledge of offshore oil and gas operations
• Familiar with the Dutch offshore regulations regarding oil & gas operations
• Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels in the organization
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Vista and MS Office programs
• Fluent in English essential, Dutch is a preference
