The Role:
Management of day-to-day field operations and optimisation of reservoir and well performance. Ensure that all reservoir zones are depleted in a way that maximises economic production without compromising ultimate recovery.

Position Overview and Responsibilities:

Production Optimisation
• Monitor daily production and ensure that reservoirs and wells are performing as expected. Investigate and resolve any anomalies. Work with the operations group(s) to agree short term production strategy and targets, monitor performance against agreed targets and help manage production “losses”.
• Understand and control reservoir displacement processes to help optimise the economic recovery.
• Ensure all fields and wells produce to their peak potential – continuously review fields and well performance and identify opportunities.
• Develop and maintain an artificial lift strategy, and a process for optimising the artificial lift systems adopted. Ensure the strategy is communicated, understood and applied by the operations group(s).
• Identify, justify and promote opportunities to improve production and/or reduce costs by optimisation of artificial lift systems, sweep pattern alterations, well interventions or other means.
• Support other groups to justify and implement opportunities (e.g. facilities upgrades).
Well Management
• Develop and maintain a full-life well management strategy for all wells.
• Develop data acquisition programmes to monitor reservoir performance to verify reservoir management strategy and to provide information to help identify business opportunities and reduce risk.
• Analysis and interpretation of acquired field data.
• Work with well operations group on aspects of new well design such as selection of completion interval, tubing design, Gaslift design, data acquisition programme etc.
• Work with wells group to prioritize and schedule well intervention work.
Data Management and Administration
• Prepare reasonably accurate forecasts of short-term production which are consistent with facilities constraints and current work programmes.
• Maintain a comprehensive, accessible, up-to-date record of re-forecasts
• Ensure forecasts are consistent with corporate Life of Field forecasts and reserve estimates.
• Co-ordinate preparation of stewardship returns.
• Management of Production and Flare consent process.
• Maintain a database of production and injection volumes of all reservoir fluids. Ensure that produced and injected fluids are properly allocated to individual wells and zones.
• Maintain a comprehensive, accessible, up-to-date record of all well data.

Education, Experience, Technical Qualifications:
• Engineering or Geoscience degree
• Experience in Petroleum/Reservoir engineering with Oil & Gas operating companies
• UKCS experience
Candidate Profile:
• Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams involved in field development, including operational aspects
