The Company:
Our Client is a global Exploration & Production company focused on the increase of production and reserves, the geographic diversification of activity with increased presence in OECD countries, operational excellence and maximising the profitability of assets.

The Role:
Reporting to the HSEQ Coordinator within the Drilling Project Team, the Operations/Safety Engineer will be responsible to ensure that HSE risks identified in the planning phase of an exploration well can be and are managed during operations. Ensure that the safety policies, regulations and procedures are appropriate for operations, adapting them to needs where necessary, designing and implementing control and response measures for identified risks. The engineer will work closely with the Drilling team and other well disciplines (e.g. petroleum engineering, completions) and regulatory to come up with the safest and most efficient plans to drill a well while meeting all expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Propose, design and implement solutions for the control and mitigation of safety risks for people and installations.
• Propose and design solutions for the implementation and improvement of prevention and incident-response plans.
• Ensure that safety policies, regulations and procedures are appropriate for field operations, adapting them to specific operational needs whenever necessary.
• Supply the necessary methodology and carry out, jointly with the line, the identification and evaluation of safety risks with the aim of defining appropriate control and response measures.
• Supply the necessary methodology and carry out, jointly with the line, the investigation of accidents and incidents with the aim of identifying root causes, the necessary corrective measures and the lessons learned.
• Supply the necessary methodology and carry out, jointly with the line, safety compliance inspections and audits in order to identify deviations from applicable policies, regulations and procedures, as well as opportunities for improvement.
• Keep information on safety performance in their area of work up to date, and encourage the use of incident reporting and preventative observation tools (GAMA, e-Sopry, etc.) in order to improve the registration of incidents and unsafe acts/conditions.
• Supply the necessary methodology and carry out, jointly with the line, the design and implementation of the operational emergency-response plan with the aim of minimizing the consequences of undesired events.
• Participate in the preparation of the Application for Consent, Bridging documents and other necessary authority applications.
• Planning Phase:
• Ensure operational experience in project Risk Register, Rig Intake Process, Risk Assessments, Audit Plans, Audits, studies, etc.
• Establish an HSE plan for Operations
• Operations Phase:
• Ensure that the Operations HSE plan is implemented
• Manage offshore Safety Coaches

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years offshore experience in Drilling
• Preferable University degree (not engineering degree)
• Highly committed to HSE in drilling operations
• Experience operating under stringent safety, environmental and regulatory practices
• Basic Norwegian Legislation training and OLF Offshore safety training
• Strong technical and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives
• Fluent oral & written Norwegian & English
• Good communication skills and a team work player
