The Company:
A major oil & gas exploration, production, refining, transport, and storage company

The Role:
To supervise a wide variety of underwater inspections work, new subsea project works, maintenance and shutdown support, Rig support etc to company offshore facilities utilising contracted diveboats / crews / divers.

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Company resident on-board diveboat supervisor responsible for all services provided by the Marine department to the customer utilising contractor supplied diving support vessel, personnel and equipment.
2. Prepare all Work permits, Plan scope work, supervises and directs multi disciplined contractor work force during subsea support activities, engineering projects and shutdown support activities on company offshore complexes and remote locations adhering to all safety rules and regulations, meeting company and international codes and standards
3. Provides in depth technical advice to customers on repair strategies during emergency support requirements to bring systems back online and minimise any loss of production. Capable of organising work force to provide continuous support in implementing repairs on live production stations.
4. Follows the approved offshore work schedule and provides a quality control surveillance activity to ensure all work is performed to Corporation specifications and to acceptable standards of workmanship. Organises the operations of a day rate contract work force to ensure optimum productivity.
5. Directs, monitors and approves a wide variety of subsea activities, such as mixed gas diving and speciality ROV operations on trunk lines, SBM’s and flow lines, hydro testing of flow lines, grit blasting, inspecting, replacing or installing various subsea steel fabrications, seabed crane lifting operations from floating platforms and various other works as assigned. Ensures that all safety rules and practices are rigorously observed by work crews.

6. Communicates and liaises with other company department personnel in particular with inspection personal for all sorts of Subsea inspection and remedial works work, Offshore Installation Supervisors advising on work scopes, site access and preparation requirements.
7. Compiles site survey report, daily and monthly report detailing work activities & progress status, completion documentation and as built packages for all scopes of work undertaken by the contractor ensuring full compliance with company engineering requirements and standards.
8. Conducts audits of onboard diving spread to ensure all items are maintained in fully functioning operative condition as per contract requirements. Reports any defective equipment and applies penalty deduction notification for contract administration personnel.
9. Coordinates all vessel movements with master to ensure efficient utilisation for support services. Advises on future locations for planning of mooring requirements to position vessel for optimum support to construction crew.
10. Highly active and mentoring role in the training of Qatari development trainees from basic familiarisation through to an active role in the department offshore support service.

Decision Making Authority:

Accountable for supervision and administration of all aspects of a high value GTC day rate contract ensuring the terms and conditions are adhered to and the service provided is in compliance to company requirements. Any failure of efficient supervision could lead to lengthy delays in work scope completion and substantial financial loss to the company

Context / Special Features / Challenges:

Regular contacts with senior operation supervisor, but have full independence in dealing with all company departments’ senior supervisory personnel, company engineering survey teams, joint venture representatives and contractor’s marine, supervisory and project personnel.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
HND or equivalent technical qualification in an Engineering discipline and specialised courses in Air/Saturation diving, NDT, and other work related subjects. The candidate should hold AIR/SAT diving supervisory ticket. Very good working knowledge of English is essential both written and spoken. It is essential to have a good computer working knowledge.
Minimum of 10 years directly related experience in the Offshore Oil and Gas Industry in which at least 4 years as diving supervisor operational experience. A complete knowledge of underwater NDT techniques is a requirement. A definite period as a Bell Diving supervisor is required along with a thorough knowledge of all aspects of diving decompression tables and diving working practices including risk assessment
as required by the current UK HSE / IMCA regulations

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years international work experience
Experience working directly for an Oil & Gas operator
